He's only in DFA-land right now... I'd imagine the Indians would probably still get SOMETHING for him... If he were just a waiver-claim, I'd go for it... but the problem is that his lack of versatility makes him a lousy bench player.

Wow! He must really miss the Braves... His MiLB OPS rang was .828-.910 from 2002-05 with the Braves, then traded to the Indians and he went .766-/.773 with the Indians AAA, .628 in Fall and .603 in the MLB (over 3 years).

And with McGehee, I think we are covered...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I'd try to sign him if nobody else has yet. He fits the flamed-out prospect vein that Doug likes to mine. You never know, he's still only 25, one year older than LaPorta and other guys who are still considered prospects. (Not comparing him to LaPorta, just saying 25 isn't that old, even in baseball.)

Yeah why not? Its not going to cost much, and you can try him out at corner outfielder or even first base if anything to get some more depth.
