Twins/Brewers Idea

This is just speculation on my part but on another website i saw that The Twins would surrender a solid arm - maybe Jesse Crain, Juan Rincon, or Scott Baker - in return for a right-handed hitter.

Would you guys send Mench and a low A prospect for any of the above? I would love to get RIncon or Crain. And Baker could be a stud..

I'd do Cain or Rincon for Mench and a lower prospect.

Every team would like to get rid of trash to get solid players. This just doesn't happen unless it is a salary dump. Twins will get better value at the trade deadline.

With how badly the Twins' offense had been going, I think they'd take about anyone. Then again, they did that with Phil Nevin last year and it didn't exactly make a difference.

 

Of course, I'd love to get Cirillo back, but I doubt that type of trade happens too soon. But just to have fun with the idea....

 

Twins get:

Mench & Graffanino & either cash, a prospect, or both to even things out

 

Brewers get:

Cirillo & a reliever

Mench for any of those clowns is a horrible deal for us. Throw in Mauer or Bartlett, somethin like that in addition to one of those arms and we might consider ..

Yeah... Throw us Mauer. The guy can't stay off the DL! If only he were a football player... Or a soccer/hockey player like our DLed prospect, Mark Rogers. Well considering Mauer is on the DL, Ryan better ship us his DL-mate, CoCo Liriano to keep Joe company.

Since he arrived in Milwaukee I have been hoping for Mench to get moved for just about anything.

I just don't like him as a player. Never have.

Mench is bad, but so is Lew Ford. Mench for Neshek? What the Twins really need is a 3B, but we can't help them there.

I would opine that of all the "non-closer" young relievers in baseball, the top three most untouchable are....

 

1. Jonny Broxton

2. Pat Neshek

3. Latin Cappy

 

But seriously, Neshek would be the perfect acquisition for the Brewz right now.

Neshek is pretty limited, as he has very little success vs. LH bats, his ball moves right into them. He's a nice player pre-arby though.

With all the Twins relievers going on the DL it looks like we wouldn't be able to get anything we really need out of them for Mench. Best scenario is to wait a month, and hope Mench heats up, the Twins fill-ins perform well, and we try and pry one of them from the Twins then.
