Bill should get a clue. He's criticizing McGehee for not tagging from 2nd w/ 1 out, down 5 runs. One run doesn't make much of a difference anyways in that situation. And going 2/3 of the way to third when a ball is hit over an outfielder's head is the standard play anyways, to ensure scoring if the ball drops. If he makes it from 2nd to 3rd w/ 2 outs, he increases his chances of scoring, what, 5 percent?

I don't get Wandy, but the numbers don't lie...the dude has been effective. Everyone just seems a little off on their hits.

Bringing Julio in is like sending in Tanner Bronson at the end of a Badger basketball game...you know it's over...except Tanner at least had some talent. If we had Paul Janish at least he could play the field while chewing up some innings.

Further proof that Melvin needs to bring back Brooks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

For all their talk about Wandy coming out of nowhere etc, he had his breakout last year with a 3.54 ERA in 137 innings with peripherals that fully supported it, this isn't some shocking surprise (neither is Greinke for that matter).

This is a prime reason why it would be nice to have another right handed (or better yet, a switch hitting) bat off the bench. Had we not been forced to use Rivera we could pinch hit Kendall here. Not that it would happen, just philosophizing.

Ha, watch, we'll lose 6-5.
Or we'll somehow take the game to extras, kendall will get hurt and Gamel will have to play catcher...

Hey Bill, this would be a good time for some drama.

Why would we pinch hit a righty for Kendall against a righty. We still had Duffy and Counsell so it isn't like we didn't have bodies to use.

Bill Hall should never face a RHP in a big situation, he is just useless. Counsell should have pinch hit there but oh well.

Hall could not look any more astonishingly lost up there lately. Wow. Just brutal. I know you are looking for a long ball there, but I was actually hoping they would PH Counsell to try to get Braun an AB

Saw that K coming from the start of the AB, and it seemed inevitable that he'd swing at anything Sampson threw once he looked at two strikes. Bummer, but it would've been a bit much to expect 8 wins in a row. Pick yourselves up and get the series win tomorrow.

What I was intending is that by having a switch or RHB on the bench we would not have needed to use Rivera against Wandy earlier in the game. Thus, we would have been able to pinch hit a lefty for Kendall in that spot in the 9th as Rivera would have still been available to catch.

Not only that he was going to K, but that the third pitch was going to be a slider low and away and that he wouldn't even be close. Especially after he lost any focus he might have had after the called strike two on a borderline high pitch.

The Hall K is predictably frustrating, but you can't get all the breaks.

The Crew still looked okay tonight. Lots of hard hit balls, mostly right at someone, or otherwise well played. I think BA thought about 6 different balls were leaving the ballpark.
