If Rivera isn't starting the day after he hits 2 HR's you know that Macha has just an idiot. Not to mention that Parra has pitched pretty effectivly with Rivera behind the plate.

I mean Rivera just doubled Kendall HR total in about 45 minutes. Kendall was lucky to even have a HR, his HR at MinuteMaid would have been an out in every single other park

I'm telling you Mike Rivera, producing offense is not the way to get more playing time. I'll take it, but its not going to get you anywhere.

That goes for his last two homers actually. I'm pretty sure his only homer last year was thanks to the short porch in Houston as well.

It might have been a double at Fenway.

It's nice to see everyone (namely Prince) jumping around and getting excited after that Rivera HR. Can't tell you the last time I saw them like this. Maybe the team can parlay this into a nice run, but I won't hold my breath for now...

ill bet JK hasn't hit 2 hrs in any batting practice session this season, let alone a game. His swing is like a tennis volley. He is satisfied with what most pitchers want, groundballs to the infeild.

Kendall will be starting tomorrow I'm sure.

Also the 4th player in the trivia question I believe is Dave Stewart

For a team struggling to score runs ... if Mike Rivera isn't starting again tomorrow, I'll be very disappointed. Regardless of whether this is a flash or if he actually gets into a little groove with the bat... he can't be worse than Kendall and we need the offense. Roll the dice and give him some PT.

I know it is a same sample today but at the Very Least should Rivera get @ least 2 Starts a Week. He at least gives the Brewers a Bat with Some POP from the Catcher Spot.He seems to work well with Parra also.

I was thinking the same thing, Machas mind must be racing...more tatoos, meaner stares, and an uncanny ability to make outs so you can run back to the dugout and get the equipment on quickly before the pitcher needs to begin warm up tosses, and if possible, have your weak ground balls get other team mates out at 2nd so they can rest in the dugout as well. Because that's what big league catchers do, they make others around them better. Not being terrible at offense is overrated.

I feel like this is a big AB. If we get out of this inning with a 6 run lead, it would be very nice.

That should probably be Parra's last inning, he didn't do too well the third time through the order, I don't think I even want to see the start of the fourth. Not to mention he threw over 30 pitches that inning

Just realized Parra has the 14th highest BABIP of all time for pitchers with over 200 IP. He'll probably move into 12th or 13th after this game.

So much for getting that ERA under 6 today. Hopefully he can pick up the win, but I am not even thinking of leaving for the bank to cash this win yet.
