Escobar's first start was yesterday, actually.

 

Melvin in the booth yesterday indicated that batting the pitcher 8th is, statistically, supposed to be worth about 3 extra wins per year. This is a view, I assume many here may believe has some merit, so I don't get the ridiculing of doing it.

I don't mind it, actually. Just seems to me if you are going to do that (pitcher 8) then do it all year. It doesn't become a better idea 2/3 of the way thru the season.

Hooray for putting up a snowman. It is kind of nice to be on the other end of these types of innings. This inning had it all, hustle, bad defense, plate discipline, and cookie pitches.
