2009-10-06: DET (Porcello) @ MIN (Baker) -- one-game playoff

Kind of surprised there wasn't a thread on this. It's been a great game so far. Sits at 3-2 (DET leads) in the bottom of the 7th. On TBS.

Porcello was good, Cabrera hit a big HR (& a 2B in the at-bat prior) to redeem himself somewhat. Twins got their first run on an error, and their second on a big HR from Kubel.

Here's hoping that Miller Park can be as crazy as the Metro Dump was after Cabrera hit that homer.

And Magglio ties it as I type this!

Skip Caray is really one of my least favorite baseball announcers. He doesn't really approach Joe Buck, but no one does imo.

Good thing the Twins arbitrarily saved Joe Nathan until the 9th inning. No way a lesser reliever could get the bottom of the Tigers' order out.

Unsurprisingly, Nathan retires both batters he faces. Good call on not using him with the lead, Gardenhire. I swear no manager is more overrated this side of Joe Torre.

I don't get pinch running for the guy (Santiago) that just beat out that sweet bunt single. You can just make a D sub for him later if you want Everett's glove at SS.

TLR, Lou Pinella, Joe Maddon, Ken Macha, etc

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

The called strike 3 against Polanco is one of the worst strike 3 calls I've ever seen. That's almost as bad as the slider low & outside that Hart got rung up on @ CHC last season ('08).

That was an awful decision by the Tigers LF to not play that ball for a single. That said, Delmon Young had an awful AB trying to drive the run in. Quite an exciting game this one is.

Crain gave up Prince's first career home run.

And we are tied!

Ryan Raburn, atonement is thy name. Games like this are why I love sports.

Ahh, I thought he was like a player everyone wanted to trade for or something. Sometimes the answer is so obvious though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
