We've checked in to our hotel here in St. Louis - right across the street from Busch (thanks to our ticket rep for the great idea of a place to stay).

My son was excited when we pulled in and Gallardo and Loe were sitting outside the hotel waiting for a golf cart to take them across the street

He's headed down stairs now to see if he can get any pictures/autographs or if everyone has already made their way to the stadium. I'll try to post pictures if when end up with decent ones.

That's exciting! Of course, your son is a Brewer magnet already, so even if there are no photos, I won't be at all surprised to hear good player-interaction stories.

The classy thing to do would be to just lay down in these two games and let the much-more-worthy Cardinals continue their hunt for a division title.

Dear Baseball Gods,

I know the Brewers aren't making the postseason. I know that all games are meaningful, but some are just more meaningful than others, and frankly, the Brewers really don't have very many of those left at all. I will admit that in a couple short weeks my sports attention will shift away from the Crew almost entirely. For this offense, I beg forgiveness. I know the Brewers have at least one more good run of games in them yet this season. Please, please consider allowing that run to be tonight and tomorrow.

I'll give up a good series against the Padres. I'll give up a good mid-September series against the Giants. I'll even accept Brandon Phillips, bless his heart, continuing to pummel Brewer pitching over the next month. I wouldn't at all mind a nice revival from September 3 through September 8, but if these next two games are any good, I'll take what I can get those days.

Thank you for your consideration.

At the risk of sounding overly shallow...is Marney Gellner even wearing makeup? (I say this as a non-makeup-wearer myself, but then again I don't work in front of TV cameras.)

It sure didn't look like she was, which is odd, because in TV everyone wears the makeup (yeah, even the guys) to cut down on any glare you might get from all the lights. I was more fixated on her inability to read a teleprompter, though.

When Augie looks more camera-ready than you, you can figure there's a problem. Maybe Marney was called in on short notice.

The guy isn't even throwing strikes except for the first pitch to guys who predictably won't swing. Hack, hack, hack.

which, sadly, we can also say about Dave Bush. Oh wait, now it's 0-1 on Jay. My bad.

Edit: The chat room is open, if you're game. I will be away from the chat shortly to have some supper, but don't let that deter you.

I would say Braun would be a no-brainer for Cardinal fans, but then does Holliday move to right? EDIT: I'm assuming that's why they didn't include Fielder, because his position is taken.

How unclassy of Casey to hit their pitcher in his first at bat and then hit a home run his second at bat. I'll be surprised if he isn't roundly booed in his next at bat.

Probably just me, but the only thing I thought of when they showed the replay of Prince climbing the ladder to go after Escobar's throw was how much it would hurt if he came down on sombody's foot.

I bet Braun finishes last in that poll, and it has nothing to do with on-field production.

For everyone complaining about Rock, and not without reason on a number of points, he has been dead on about the HBP issue all year long.
