Google won't save you #35 - Leigh Stephens

[ Leigh Stephens. ]

CORRECT.

Leigh Stephens was the original guitarist for Blue Cheer, a San Francisco psychedelic rock band. They were considered a little "darker" than your normal hippie rock band.

Their only hit was a cover of "Summertime Blues", although they still tour to this day.

Glenn Danzig, formerly of The Misfits, cited Blue Cheer as his original inspiration.

I have no idea who Blue Cheer is/was - I'll give Gyp credit on this one.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Blue Cheer - Some like to give credit for this name to the laundry detergent, but actually the band got its name from a type of LSD that was widely popular in the 60's.

I was pretty sure that LSD was the drug and I was looking at Blue Cheer pictures last night but I couldn't find any of them that looked like guy in the pic with the dogs.

This was my red herring...I kept thinking the guy he inspired was in a jam band or electronic act judging the by drug name and the way the dude looks these days

I actually saw Blue Cheer play last year, too

Arrrggh. I was going to guess Dickie Peterson (of Blue Cheer), but the pictures did not match up...should have looked at the other members.
