I definitely did not see that coming, but I am glad the Rangers beat the Yankees. Also awesome to see Vlad jumping on top of the pile and the ginger ale celebration on the field.

The Yankees' playoff hopes are as dead as George Steinbrenner. No more looking at those gaudy "The Boss" patches this season.
I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to sport those patches in 2011.

 

As for the teary eyed kid, if he's really that into the Yankees - as much as we are into the Brewers - I am willing to cut him some slack. If I'd had the opportunity to be in St. Louis to see the Brewers' 1982 season end, I would have been this person, only with a different logo on:

Though if my crying face were forever connected on the internets with Brewers' futility, I'd be even more unhappy.

 

Anyway, congratulations to Texas and Rangers fans. We know what it's like to wait a long time.

We all know he was hoping for the ratings boost of NY/PHI in the World Series. Go underdogs!
