Jason Hammel

3-3 | 3.71

Hammel pounded the strike zone early but fell apart late in his last start against the Padres, yielding six runs in 6 1/3 innings, all of which came after the third inning. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.95 ERA in his career against the Brewers.

Zack Greinke

2-1 | 6.60

Greinke was again brilliant in the early innings Sunday before fading. He allowed all five of his runs and all six of his hits in a fifth inning that began with a 12-pitch at-bat by Pittsburgh's Neil Walker, who homered.

Nice to see Mike Rivera back. If he hits the ball hard once, he'll have outdone Nieves offensively. It'll be interesting to see what Greinke does against a pretty good offense, unlike Pittsburgh and San Diego. Carlos Gonzalez being DTD should help. I wouldn't mind if he was out three days and then back healthy by Monday.

From McCalvy;

I wouldn’t read too much into Jonathan Lucroy not starting; he was struck in the left wrist by a relay throw last night but told me after the game he was fine. Roenicke said before yesterday’s game that he was considering giving Lucroy a day off.

First game of the year for me tonight, I'm visiting Milwaukee for a week. I'm looking forward to seeing Greinke and the new scoreboard--feels like Opening Day again :-)

Good to see Braun in the lineup tonight and very strange to see Mike Rivera back.

Expecting a big night from Gomez, he seems to do well at Miller Park and he just had a few days to clear his mind.

Very happy to see Braun in the lineup. I hope the players are not to tired from there all night flight. It is good to get to earlier start times/

Getting that goose egg off the board as early as possible was big. Like that play after being shutout. Sometimes that can get the pressure off and get things going.

Finally they get a run in with a guy on third and 1 out

Although it's funny to me it was a ground ball to the left side. If the infield was in for some reason, Weeks might've been out.
