Per MLB Trade Rumors

The Giants designated infielder Bill Hall for assignment to open a roster spot for newly-acquired Carlos Beltran, tweets Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Hall, 31, hit .158/.220/.211 in 41 plate appearances for the Giants,

playing mostly second base. He'd been released by the Astros previously

after signing a $3MM contract in December.

"Fiers, Bill Hall and a lucky SSH winner will make up tomorrow's rotation." AZBrewCrew

I actually wouldn't be opposed to a minor league deal - then just bring him up for the Cards series for a few walk offs.

Wasn't that the Reds? Career OPS is 938 against the Reds anyway. Career OPS is 1.438 with a pink bat.

Anyway, he has been injured since July 8th.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

You can say Hall is done and be right. The sad thing is, you can say Hall would be an upgrade to the Brewer lineup and also be right.

I would neither be excited or disappointed if the Brewers signed Hall for the rest of the year. He's not going to set the world on fire, and it's not like he could be a lot worse than 3/4ths of the infield we already have out there.
