I'm on an old school Tecmo Super Bowl kick...

Just finished a season with da Raiders. I had 3006 yards rushing with Bo, and 700 yards for Marcus Allen. I think thats my all time best for Bo.

Anybody else remember any Tecmo Super Bowl Records?

Fixed title. -b19

24 ints with Joey Browner from the Vikings and 23 with Mark Carrier from the Bears..Not sure if they are records, but I never came close to those two numbers again

Bob Nelson of the Packers (nose tackle) had something like 140 sacks one season for me.

Everyone calls it Tecno Super Bowl for some reason. Its Tecmo Super Bowl.

I still play it, and my best record is probably 109 points in one game with the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Miami Dolphins in the playoffs. The score stopped at 99 so I had to add the rest myself. Rod Woodson was in excellent condition and would tackle the kick returner at about the 1 yard line every single return.

Also, with a good NT like Bob Nelson its possible to get a sack on every single non-shotgun play. I've never actually tried a whole season of it but I would imagine it would be possible to get over 200 sacks.

There's a point where it will just stop counting your yards. Long ago, I could get to it with Barry or Thurman Thomas, something like 5,164 yards or something random like that. It'd keep counting your carries, but not the yards so your average would keep going down.

My friends and I used to have all sorts of ridiculous competitoin season on there. We'd run the kickoff out of bounds at the 1 every time so we could get the full 99 yards of rushing every time. Classic.

I know, it was a typo on my part.

My post points in a game was 91 with the Raiders over Denver. I had 7 safties.

Can the title of this thread please be changed. Now it's just irritating mehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Oh, maybe I'll post too. I remember scoring 98 points with the Raiders vs. the Steelers. I also blocked every field goal attempt and/or PA with L. Taylor multiple times. That's not much of a feat though. Many of my buddies did the same. Still cool to do it. Also rushed Bo for 400 some yards one game.

the "tecno" is bugging me too...

Haha, rluz this is simultaneously the most dorky and downright awesome post I've read in a while. Very nice.

I went 16-0 with the Pats. Allowing just 36 points. Faced Bo in the Conference Championship, went into OT 6-6. Bo busts a run for 90 yards first play in OT. I was not very happy. Me and my buddies play wayyyyy to much.

EDIT - too many y's after way. We always play no lurching(nose tackling)

the only thing about those videos are "why would you do that? besides showing off to a girl (who wouldn't be that impressed anyways) what reason do you have to do that? If you did that against a human opponent, you'd likely be done with that play with a couple of black eyes.

Just get in the darn end zone.

Those videos are a joke. Anyone can run around the Pats terrible D with Bo for 5 fake minutes. I applaud the Okoye run because it was much different. A play that takes skill would have to show me against a human opponent and be caught behind the line, with a blitz, and make a 10+ yard gain. I will applaud that. Running with Bo against the Pats...not so much.

I remember him. He was one of the best nose tackles in the game. How popular was this guy actually in real life?

One season I took Tampa. Benched all the offensive starters and changed the returners. Won the Super Tecmo Bowl 3-0 over Oakland. My finest moment.

Somewhat relevant to this thread, Christian Okoye was just on the CBS show Pirate Master, although he was voted out last week, just the second week of the show.

We should set up one weekend and have a massive football tourny...techmo style! I have enough free time this summer to set it up since my full time job doesnt start till next year... If anyone is interested let me know what location works best for you. Even with 8 people / beer and a few lady friends we would have a killer tourny http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
