Gamel hitting 7th behind Gonzalez irks me. Lefty vs Lefty or not. If Gamel is going to be in the lineup, he has no business batting behind Gonzalez.

I agree. Keep the lineup consistent. Mat has hung in there just fine in ST and now in the regular season. Let him prove he can keep doing it by providing him an opportunity. Besides, when the Brewers jump all over Maholm early, and he gets pulled, they probably bring in a right handed reliever anyway.

And to those ripping Gomez batting second, give the guy a chance. It is game 5. Nyjer got his first hit last night. No one was calling for him to be out of there after a sample size of 2 games. Gomez has a sample size of one.

Gomez has a sample size of 2,000 at bats of sub .300 OBP.

Career numbers:

Morgan vs LHP: .201 / .287 / .269 / .557

Gomez vs LHP: .242 / .288 / .395 / .683

Aoki is the other option, but all he would be is a hope at better numbers.

I've no problem with Gomez playing vs LHP.

He has no business hitting anywhere but 8th.

I don't think people have a problem with Gomez playing against LHP. It's just that Roenicke (and a lot of managers for that matter) have a set position line-up and positions usually hit in a certain spot, regardless of who plays. For Roenicke, the CF will always hit 2nd and the catcher 8th.

Against righties, I'm fine with Roenicke's lineup except I would swap Lucroy and Gonzo (and probably Weeks/Morgan). For lefties though, I would put Lucroy 2, Gamel 6, Gomez 7, Gonzo 8.

Hart is an option at #2. So is Lucroy. The CF doesn't have to bat #2.

If you can get Hart's numbers to play at the 5th spot, I really think you keep him there. The only reason (to me) you don't bat Hart 5th is if you want him to see more fastballs in front of Braun or something.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

It's always nice when I get the MLB Extra Innings package for free for a week or so, but come on...it's 2012 - broadcast the games in HD.

it might be a little brisk in Chicago but these guys look like they're about to climb Mount Everest hahaha

I think Gomez either does something outstanding or completely stupid. There is no in-between with him.

The way they're running the bases maybe they should wear the magic underwear every night.

That stuff looks like some manufacturer's new standard cold weather gear. Wonder if we'll see other teams wearing it. Agree that it does look over-the-top.
