Brewerfan.net frontpage story

So .. not that I don't like Shea Vucenich (sp?) .. but that front page story has been up for about two years now. I was thinking maybe you could ask a place like Disciples of Uecker if every other week or so you could re-post one of their articles that would be relevant for a little while just to get a variety on that front page? I don't know .. just a thought.

Yeah, this has been discussed before. The front page is a turn off to visitors who assume the site is dead because of the very dated story.

It almost seems like this site is about 98% forum related material now. I miss the articles and stuff. But yeah, I can see how a 2 year old article on the front page is a deterrent for new folks for sure.

I try not to respond to these right away in order to give Brian a chance to do so, but will today.

 

We're aware of the home page's infrastructure deficiencies. Over time, as life changed for all our staff members, we found ourselves limited in what we could provide in original content. And to tell the truth, even back in the day, we were only providing one or two articles a month. Compare that now to the immense work you see daily at BrewCrewBall or Disciples of Uecker.

 

I suppose we could have Brian look into having the "home page" URL for brewerfan.net lead right to the forum host page, but yes, we are 99.99% a forum-driven community now.

 

People will find the forum, via Link Report tweets or otherwise. We're not worried, and Shea Vucinich keeps his royalties for now .
