2014-07-11 Cardinals (Kelly) at Brewers (Gallardo), 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 7-6]

Watched all those 90s teams. They were never playing for anything. This is much, much worse.

So you would rather be in last place and play for nothing than be in first place and go through a tough patch?

Not even close to what I said.

They've blown it, they are done. They had a chance to have a great year and have absolutely imploded. That was never the case after 92. I hope I'm wrong and you can throw it in my face all you want, but this is a wreck like few other Brewers seasons, ever.

They lost 88 games and were 23 games out of 1st place at the end of last year. They are in first place with the best record in the National league so far this year. Seriously...you people are going to complain that the sky is falling? Try talking to the Cubs or the Diamondback fans.

Is the in-game thread not the place to vent during the game? I'm sorry, but losses are a lot harder to take when the team you root for has something to play for. Can you stop with the whole "stop complaining, the team is in 1st" act.

Let people vent in the in-game thread, that's what it's here for.

Ok..then people should stop venting!!

This is a tough patch? They're 1 for their last 10, that's more than a rough patch; but, we shouldn't be concerned, because they're still in first and in the 1990's they were junk? Gotcha.

Or you can just let it go as an in-game thread vent and let it go - like most other posters do. This was a frustrating loss in a frustrating part of the season. The fact that the Brewers are in 1st place really means nothing as that lead is sure to be gone by the end of the weekend.

Will we be able to vent and complain if the team isn't in first place? Just curious..

Nobody said that. People are frustrated and venting because this team could actually do something. The teams in the 90s and early 00s couldn't. You seriously don't see the difference in why people are mad?

You lose 10 of 11 when you're 19 games up with a 6.5 game lead in the division and that lead gets knocked down to 1 game in less than two weeks, people are going to get frustrated, they're going to vent and they should.

You lose 10 of 11 when you started the stretch at 40-68 nobody is going to get that frustrated because the team was bad so it's not really surprising and you don't really have anything to play for.

@AdamMcCalvy: Gallardo is stymied by the Cardinals again. No-decision leaves him 1-11 against them lifetime.

We play the cardinals two weeks after the break. They better line it up so he never has to face them. He flat out sucks against them.

There needs to be a special rule in this forum that allows stuff to go through the censor when the team is spiraling out of control, losing every bleeping game they play after being great for half a year, and just gave up a game winner to douche face Holiday from our ultimate worst rival of all time.

I an so flipping pissed off, it's scary. No reason to be positive, unless your head is in the bloody clouds.

"the season" is a weird name for a family member.

Not living in WI I never get to watch Brewers Live after the game. I noticed Augie is saying "break-ing" ball now instead of breakkkkaball

Losing is a disease....perfect for this team right now.

that low strike to Davis was one of the worst strike calls I can remember this year. that would've been ball 4 and put men on 1st and 2nd with either 0 or 1 out (i forget)

Just a terrible call

Was at the game, three things:

1) Big props to the Event Services guy who let Scooter get his triple by getting in Halliday's way.

2) 6-0 victory percentage: Ridiculous.

3) I had my Uecker nesting dolls at my tailgate today, to get rid of the bad mojo. I'm burning Cardinals Uke in effigy tomorrow morning.

You actually typed that, submitted it, then decided something wasn't right and then edited it to make it better?

Yikes, that was in pretty poor taste.
