I never understand not using your best reliever(s) in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game. Saving your best guys for a situation that may not happen (a save situation) is simply stupid.

By the book managing bites us yet again.

May not have made a difference, but what a terrible defensive play at the end there by Khris Davis. Double pump, than lollipop a throw over the cutoff man's head. A good play there and there's at least a play at the plate.

this will be our downfall. our brilliant manager is going to flush this season down the toilet. damn shame too. i think this team was good enough to at least make it to the world series.

THere's that too. Wooten shouldn't be pitching in the 9th......but Davis flubbed that play big time. He hustled over, got the ball....then double pumped AND made a terrible throw.

^^ This!! I don't think the double steal was on RR at all, but its ridiculous to use a lesser reliever with the top of the order coming up. If a save situation does come up, wouldn't you rather have Wooten pitching with a lead instead of a tie game? In 2014, I cannot believe managers allow a statistic to dictate how they manage.

Is there some reason why Jeffress isn't even on the 40 man at this point? If Thornburg won't pitch again this year, he should be moved to the 60-day (how many options does he have left) and Jeffress can go to the 40-man and then the MLB club.

The loss counts this team is just bad now and it showing now with losing. Bad base running lack of quality starting pitching bad relief pitching and lack of clutch hitting. Well we still see what kind of heart they have in the next two months. Doug and Mark have some big decisions coming up.

You think this is bad you should have seen how that Reds/ NYY game ended. :)

send Wooty back to AAA, bring back Hendy, 60-day thorny, add Jeffy, done and done.
