This is in common with Rogers, and perhaps indicates this is more important to Jack Z than some other scouting directors?

 

We shall see, I have no expertise, but I like what I saw, although it definitely appears to be high risk/reward since the only developed pitch right now is the fastball. But it appears to be quite a fastball!

I think there is alot to like about a high school pitcher that can hit the high 90's with his fastball. Plus he's a great athlete. He might end up being a closer though rather than a starter

The blurb from ESPN on the top 20 in the draft said Jeffress was number 11 overall in their rankings. I would cut and paste it but it's from ESPN Insider so that's a nono. Basically they say he's a true flamethrower with a slim frame. Velocity is not just an early inning thing and while his curveball is inconsistent, his changeup is solid which is unusual to say the least for a HS pitcher. Durability is not an issue with this kid they say. They finished saying he projects very well. Overall a very good review.

Let's see, 4 or 5 years in the minors, another year and a half for Tommy John surgery, probably a rotator cuff in there somewhere, hopefully we'll see you in 7 or 8 years, Jeremy.
