Kyle Barraclough

According to this rumor, the Marlins are willing to deal relievers.

I'd be really interested in acquiring RHP Kyle Barraclough. I think he could fit in nicely to pair with Jacob Barnes as quality setup men.

What would it take to land him?

Think what we gave up for Will Smith, that being what it was worth at the time, not now.

So probably Luis Ortiz + Ryan Cordell or similar value.

Barraclough will command a pretty steep return because he's a minimum salary guy. I'd rather take on salary for Ramos and give back less in prospects. Plus he can close on days when Knebel isn't available. Otherwise, I'd slide him into 8th inning and use Barnes/Hader in 7th. Think 2011 when Axford was the man and they acquired K-Rod to set up for 2 obscure players to be named later.

What we "gave up" for Will Smith was Nori Aoki...

(Assume you mean "got"...)

Yep, my mistake. I was referring to the Bickford and Susac return .

I'm not interested. His average (for a reliever) K% doesn't make up of his lack of control. Sure he's better than Espino or Suter but at what cost?
