I'm pulling for Pittsburgh, Arizona, Cincy and Washington. That NL West race is crazy close, and I personally would love to see the Dodgers not make it in. After getting swept by Washington in a DH yesterday, the Phillies are all but eliminated. They'd basically have to win out and hope for help. The Nats also stand a tiny chance. I hope they win today, so they have at least a little something to play for tomorrow against the Cubs.

I'll probably drop Philly from the list after today.

I see both sides. But i think I'd root for Col to win in order to hope they win the division over LAD. Dodgers are now 3 back of STL, so very difficult for them to get a WC.

Well, it's looking like the Dodgers will salvage a game in Cincy, up 4-1 in the 5th. Of course, it is Cincy, so runs can come cheap.

Pit has an early 2-1, but the Cardinal pitcher just led off the third with a triple. He is at 3rd with two out now.

Really would like to see Pit win. The west, I just have no clue what I want.

Bucs up 4 - 1 now in the 7th. Dodgers have opened up an 8 - 1 lead also in the 7th.

I guess I'd prefer that the Cardinals lose than the Dodgers. If the Dodgers manage to get hot and either sweep or take 3-4 against the Cardinals this weekend, that would be a pretty tough hole for the Cards to climb out of.

The Cardinals losing makes me feel better heading into tonight.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Possible side benefit for the Brewers:

Vazquez threw like 35 pitches and recorded 6 outs while allowing two runs. He got the save but looked pretty shaky and struggled to get swings and misses. The run in the 8th was the result of Dickerson losing a fly ball in the sun, but even so he gave up some hard contact.

Bucs have a day off tomorrow, but I doubt Vazquez is available for all three given today. At the very least, I wouldn't think Hurdle would hesitate to try to squeeze two innings from him given where Pitt is.
