Braun's story is the same as it has been since the end of the 2016 season. He'll have nice stretches of really squaring up the ball and get people excited that vintage Braun is coming back only to quickly disappear again. The sum of it all is just a pretty mediocre corner outfielder.

I can appreciate the fact that he doesn't really hurt you in the lineup overall, but he doesn't help much either and he just doesn't belong higher than 5th in a good lineup at this point in his career.

It will be nice to move on from him after 2020.

What is the point? I don't disagree but the guy has a 9 game hitting streak, and this refrain is like 3 years more than tired. Keep it up though, I'm sure he's listening.

If Shaw comes through here (HR), I take back all the bad things I have said about him...

Jesus on base percentage is almost the same as his slugging percentage. I did not think this was possible in this day in age. As a first basemen with bad D no speed and no other redeeming qualities the Hiura decision has to be addressed. Are you trying to put the best team on the field every night?

How bad is burnes to have double the ERA as freaking Claudio

I guess really bad if you only look at ERA and don't take ANY other factors into account.

So you agree, but you're mad that I said it for some reason. Ok.

Braun is going to have another key AB in this game.

Do we want that?

No, we don't. We want to lose this game so that one of our best hitters doesn't get an at bat :rolleyes

I guess I'd kinda be on board with him. What's the point? Ok, so he's no longer an MVP caliber player and should be our #5 hitter, but he's still pretty good towards the end of his career. I think his point was more that it's not exactly a "hot take."

If this is the standard you’re setting for what can be posted on a message board then no message board should exist for anything.

That is one of those takes where you kinda nod your head while sighing. Kinda like everyone knows this, but it sucks to admit it. It's depressing to read it, and as fans, it's nice to put on blinders once in a while, even when most know what is going on.
