Braun is going to have another key AB in this game.

Do we want that?

No, we don't. We want to lose this game so that one of our best hitters doesn't get an at bat :rolleyes

Relax. Emoji king

I guess I'd kinda be on board with him. What's the point? Ok, so he's no longer an MVP caliber player and should be our #5 hitter, but he's still pretty good towards the end of his career. I think his point was more that it's not exactly a "hot take."

That is one of those takes where you kinda nod your head while sighing. Kinda like everyone knows this, but it sucks to admit it. It's depressing to read it, and as fans, it's nice to put on blinders once in a while, even when most know what is going on.

Every week for 3+ years? Again, what's the point?

I agree with you. Completely.

This team needs 3 bats, Hiura’s one of them.

Burnes needs to work on his mechanics, needs to go down below and get stretched and just pitch, gonna need him later in the year.

I guess I'd call him more "barely adequate" than "pretty good", but I digress.

What's the point? Well, what's the point of any player discussion? Aren't we constantly stating the obvious regarding player performance?

I guess I'm just not sure why people are hypersensitive to criticism of Braun moreso than any other player. I mean, it's not even like I said the guy is junk. People state the obvious every day -- Aguilar has been junk this year -- Shaw looks lost at the plate -- Cain has really struggled this season, etc etc, and no one really cares. But the obvious gets stated on Braun, and people are really, really sensitive to it. Even when it's not done in really all that insulting of a way.

Yelich is hitting between two guys who have been real spotty all season long. Get that man a few more baserunners and a scary bat behind him and look out.

Holy hyperbole. :rolleyes Every week for 3+ years. Give me a BREAK. Posters generally tread lightly on Braun compared to other guys on this roster in regard to criticism.

Goodness, people bagged on Villar almost every single day when he was here.

Does anyone really think that vintage Braun is coming back though?

No one thinks he is THAT good anymore. I don’t care what kind of hot streak he goes on

We did bring Shaw back

Can I laugh at Braun for acting like that pop up was going to be 20 rows out of play only to have it in play by a good amount? Just want to know the standard as I don’t want to offend.

Disappointing start to the series not to really be able to get anything going against Pomeranz.

The Cubs lost, so there's that.

How bad is burnes to have double the ERA as freaking Claudio

I guess really bad if you only look at ERA and don't take ANY other factors into account.

Like what? Beard measuring?

Braun is hitting around .270. In an era where superstars hit under .250, he’s still doing well. His bat is the least of our worries.

He’s definitely playable. No doubt

He’s going to hit 20 hrs this year. I can live with that

Don’t you think some of you are overreacting? The offense has honestly been pretty good this year and yeah we have a few guys that need to improve, but the season has a lot of baseball left. I for one have zero concerns about our lineup.

Braun is hitting. 264. I don't know what superstars are hitting under .250, but a 270 batting average is a bad bar to use to judge his performance.

I never said his bat is a huge concern. Again, people just don't want to hear it a hint of negativity on Braun.

The difference between watching Will Smith and Alex Claudio pitch is mind boggling.

What was your thoughts in Xavier cedeno last year?

I wasn’t that impressed with him as a loogy either

To be honest I’m kind of done with loogys in general in this new era

Coming into today lefties has a .526 OPS off Claudio, so he's doing what he's always done. We just traded for him to be something more and he's just not that guy.

I hope that is all ok to say about Claudio as I realize it's rather obvious.
