[sarcasm]I like the rebrading by Hiura, but if he's going to drop a letter I'd suggest the "K".[/sarcasm]

Nice to see the Timber Rattlers scrape and claw their way to a win (2-out game-tying hit by Dillard in the 9th, winning hit by Ward, Chirino locked down the save).

Also good to see the Shuckers finally hitting. Who knew David Fry could play so many positions?

Thank God the Brew Crew held on as well.

Pre-Game Media Notes

Sounds Comeback Bid Falls Short in Loss to Redbirds

Two-Run Ninth Inning not Enough for Nashville in Series Finale

A relatively brief summary, but many tidbits and notes within.

Miles Mikolas blast the killer, huh.

Yes, Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura in the box score link.

Derek Fisher never got to man his CF position. He grounded out 3-to-1 in the top of the first, and then was replaced. No word on the nature of the departure, but that couldn't have the plan for the rehabber Sunday.

The Athletic's Will Sammon reported on why 40-man roster RHP Chad Sobotka has yet to debut:

"has yet to pitch in a game because of a sinus infection"

Bats Explode Early In 14-10 Shuckers Win

Contreras Sets a New Career High with 11 Strikeouts

By Garrett Greene

So of the 12 outs Luis Contreras recorded, 11 were via the K.

Brice Turang made the first two outs of the 7-run 1st inning. Two outs in one inning is rare, but the first two outs?

Who knew David Fry could play so many positions?

Heck, even has an inning at shortstop in his relatively brief pro career. He has appeared at every position on the diamond.

Rattlers Revenge: Wisconsin’s Four-Run Ninth Topples Peoria

Ward has four hits and three RBI to get Rattlers past the Chiefs

By Chris Mehring

Very eventful summary -- felt as though we were there, Chris, awesome.

***

VIDEO via the ABC affiliate in Peoria: You'll see the home runs surrendered by Nick Bennett and Freisis Adames, but also switch-hitter Hayden Cantrelle's 5th inning sacrifice fly.

WISC RISP: 4-for-22 (22!)

PEO RISP: 1-for4

Pre-Game Media Notes

Mudcats Get Series Split With 3-1 Finale Victory in Kinston

Ashton McGee homered in the ninth to help seal Carolina’s series finale victory

Nice 3-3 series split vs. a previously 6-0 team.

VIDEO via WITN: Man, I was really hoping this road series video would show us Ashton McGee's first pro HR outside of Maryvale, where the North Carolina native hit two in 2019. That would have been a nice gift, we've been able to provide such a present to a few appreciative players over the years via Twitter reachouts. But you will see a bit of Joey Wiemer in action, driving in two.

I've had Fry as a top prospect for his bat and versatility.
