I really do think having the 'big' opening game does a disservice to a team like Wisconsin that wasn't really able to 'gel' last year and had no opportunity to play or even have much in-practice contact prior to a big matchup with another Top-20 team. I know there's a lot of dislike of the non-conference cupcakes as fans (though I believe there's a big difference between 1-AA schools and the Cincinnatis, etc. of the world), but it really did serve as a legit tune-up for conference play.

 

As such, I expect the opportunity to work out a lot of kinks tonight, which hopefully sets them up well for another big game next week.

Yup. I'm not a fan of playing 1-AA and Little Sisters of the Blind and such, but opening the season with a conference game just feels off. We've come out against LSU and played well in openers (but like you said, they are coming off a weird Covid season), so I guess we'll go from here, and see what happens.

Brewers start 50 minutes earlier so there will be at least a two hour overlap. Looks like I'll have the Badgers on the 43 inch on mute and the Brewers on the 65 inch with audio.

We won't learn much about the Badgers tonight unless it's really bad..

The big questions won't be answered for at least a couple of weeks.

Holy Toledo! Down by two with the ball at midfield with 3 minutes left vs Notre Dame.

 

Does Notre Dame go down too?

 

Seen a couple betting sharps taking Toledo, so this isn’t completely out of the blue.

Put a few patches on them and you'd swear he was working a pit crew for NASCAR.

It’s just all the greater because their coach totally doesn’t look like a football coach and really looks like some guy who would work on your car.
