Davis was wide open in the flat on the third down play and Mertz didn't even look his way, which is not surprising since he never looks past his first read.

The unwillingness to use Ferguson in the red zone other than as a distraction is infuriating.

 

I am convinced that PC is just a moron when it comes to red zone offense and TE's. Stop using Ferguson in just the middle of the field in the end zone. If you are going to just have him run routes in the middle put him in the slot a few times.

 

Run some fades with your big bodied TE.

What a boring team to watch. Basically the only way to be decent is face a team that is so horrid against the run and allows you to run 13/14 plays on a drive. The other being a Mertz incomplete pass.

 

Sad part is this offensive line isn’t even that great and we are absolutely shredding the Illinois defense.
