And the beauty of it is that there is no consensus franchise #1 QB, much less top 2-3 QBs, that don't have question marks that a team would want to trade up for.  I don't think that there's anyone who a team would give up a boatload of draft capital for to pick #1.  Arizona and the Rams already made a significant investment at QB and I don't know that any of the top 3 QBs (Young, Stroud, Levis) are better than what the Lions already have.  Houston, Seattle, and Indy can just sit there and see who falls to them, and if a team below those wants a QB they can trade up to the Lions' or Arizona's spot.

I think the Cardinals if they trade up it wouldn't be for a QB but for a pass rusher.  I could see teams wanting to trade up to get a pass rusher.  The Bears won't get back as much as it would be if it were a QB but they should still get at least 2 first round picks for it.  I think the same with Seattle I could see something like 5, 20, 36 and a future 3rd round pick for the 1st pick.  I think that would be something Seattle would do to get Anderson at the #1 pick.  I think Houston is fine staying where they are at and the same with the Colts.  I think the Lions also trade out of their pick.

Seattle and Detroit are two teams I could see taking a QB just as much as not taking a QB. Both could still trade down and take that project guy out of Florida who'd need a couple years of seasoning.

Sincerely doubt Rodgers wants to share the podium with him on HOF induction day.

I don't think anyone does, but I seriously doubt Rodgers had any interest in retiring anyway.

I think his talk of retirement is just because he likes the fact he has options.

Tom Brady looked washed this season. He is very clearly done. While not up to his typical standard of excellence, Rodgers still looked capable of getting it done. And the decline he did show can be clearly explained away in the fact that he was working with young, inconsistent receivers, and playing with a busted thumb for a good portion of the year.

If Brady's retirement does anything, it takes away a potential target from those contending teams who will be looking for a veteran QB this offseason. That theoretically makes Rodgers' value greater.

Is the Rooney Rule in play for teams with new head coaches? It seems like when a team hires a new coach they can just name whoever they want as coordinators without any sort of search. And I just saw the Jags named a new offensive coordinator without a search after losing theirs.
