Things are gonna be pretty nuts for the next couple weeks.

 

Especially this week starting now. Spring training games set to begin on either the 17th or 18th. Both players and teams no doubt want to have as much of their roster fates settled by then.

SO, I'm seeing COVID protocols are scrapped. 9 Inning double headers return and the 'Ghost Runner' provision was scrapped - standard extra innings rules. Curious to see what other surprises are in store. Rule 5 Draft officially scratched for this season.

I'm most excited to see how many trades get executed in the next 48 hours. There's no way these GM's haven't all been talking the entire 99 day lockout. There's just no way there aren't double digit trades that are done in theory and a button push away from being confirmed/executed.

I'm most excited to see how many trades get executed in the next 48 hours. There's no way these GM's haven't all been talking the entire 99 day lockout. There's just no way there aren't double digit trades that are done in theory and a button push away from being confirmed/executed.

 

haha yeah its gonna be like setting up a bunch of stock trades at night to execute as soon as the market opens the next day

Not to be a downer but don’t expect the Brewers to be playing in FA until their arbitration players are signed or the arbitration numbers are known.

I don't think you're being a downer whatsoever. It's the Brewers, that's being very realistic. I will be curious, however, to see if they are involved in any trades considering the massive amount of time to discuss and pre-arrange or consider the playing field.

Ok, this made me laugh so hard. I literally had to blink my eyes and make sure I was reading the thread title correctly when I clicked back on it today. MLB Hot Tub - Tremendous. It is a great skit and now I will be singing it all day again. May have to be the new annual thread name instead of Hot Stove.

I think teams are waiting on the first team to make a more to peel off the seal. No one wants to be accused of tampering during the lockout. I expect we'll start seeing moves happen hot and heavy at some point today.
