Boston taking Chris Sale offers

Any chance we could off load Yeli for 2 years of Sale? Could we make a bigger package and include Devers or maybe Verdugo.

Yeli, Urias, Lauer, 2 prospects (Black, Rodriguez (p)) for Sale and Devers.

The Sox get the solid starters and 2 decent prospects and we get out of the end of Yeli's contract, get a high potential starter and amazing potential 4 man playoff rotation, as well as a year of a top end 3B.

Yeli, Lauer, 1 prospect (Black) for Sale and Verdugo.

We don't really need Verdugo but I would think there would be some security there getting a vet back.

I saw a recent article that suggested Yelich to the Dodgers. They could use a leftfielder and they have the financial ability to take on the contract.

It only makes sense to offload Yelich if they have plans for the money. But since Sale makes more than Yelich (short term), there wouldn't be any short-term savings, so no new players, and Yelich is more likely to be a positive than Sale at this point. And if we traded Lauer, expect lots of starts from Jason Alexander.
Expanding it beyond those two players makes it worse for us. Devers would just be a rental.

Except apparently they want to limit their budget this year to avoid repeater's tax.

Really interesting idea.

Yelich has a no trade clause, not sure if Boston is appealing to him.

Sale is slated to make $1.5 million more than Yelich so basically a wash.

Sale has struggled to get on the field.

Yelich has been less than 100 per cent.

If Sale is healthy he could be a stud, he also could be a major trade chip.

Can one of the rookies replace Yelich's stats in the OF?

Interesting but i don't think Yelich waives the no trade clause.

Good point,  forgot about the trade clause.

I would assume if we trade Lauer than Sale would take his place. In my opinion Alexander is done Junk and Small should gets starts before him and in time Gasser. I would give up Urias and the couple non top prospects for a year of Devers and eventually a draft pick.

But why would Boston?
