They have to run the ball better. Even if it's moderately so, and they stick with it (something they've had no interest in doing), it would make a difference. Locke has the ability to throw effectively if given time (he's not a scrambler) & the down & distance is consistently manageable (that's where running the ball comes in).

 Illinois hasn't been lighting it up offensively, so it's winnable. But for the personnel UW has right now, this 40-50 throws a game has to stop. And still waiting for the ill-timed penalties to cease.

This might not be Ohio state's strongest offense but they may very well shut out the Badgers next week

The defense looks bad.

Obviously the results aren't there right now. Nobody would even argue otherwise. That being said, the school isn't even going to consider buying him out yet when they still owe Chryst a boatload of money. He's going to get a few years to show that he can make his system and style work here.

Should be 10-7.  On ILL's first TD drive, the play that took it to the 1-yard line the DB left his man to go after the QB.  There was another defender chasing the QB.  Pass dumped over the DB.  Discipline - can't leave your man.

Furntey getting owned by Newton.

Between the last drive of last week and the last drive of the 1st half, when they go hurry-up with 4-5 WRs they can move the ball.  If you don't have quality receiving TEs, don't put them on the field when passing.  Rucci did have a few good blocks on run plays.

You have to give it a couple of years when the offensive system was changed so drastically.  Its going to be tough this year but that can happen in a rebuild.

I really thought that they would get better as the year goes on but the opposite is happening. Some of its injuries but still the mental mistakes and lack of discipline seem to be getting worse

I don't think they're getting worse, it's just the level of competition is showing.  They went into halftime against GA Southern and Buffalo struggling to put points on the board. They're just not good. Struggling to adapt to new schemes and a lot of the players that were (and are still) here were recruited to fit the previous schemes. It's gonna be a slow process until Fickell gets his guys in here. I don't think the University expected a one-year turnaround. At least I hope not.

Yah, I had to go to the iHeart Radio app.  Fortunately they consider 1310AM to be "in my area" (but their FM counterpart, 101.5, is considered to not be in "my area") so I was able to sync up with the Badgers radio broadcast.  Lepay is way, way better.

See I don't understand why they got away from the ground game on this drive. They were gashing them. Plenty of time. 3 timeouts. Now you're in a 3rd and 10 hole.
