Tyler Black, the other top prospect

There is a ton of love and hype around our quartet of OF prospects of Mitchell, Frelick, Weimer, and Chourio, but I want to give a shout out to Tyler Black. He is not nearly as hyped but has been getting better every year and has improved with tougher competition.

2021 (A) - .222/.388/.272/.660, 28.2% K, 19.4% BB, .049 ISO, 2 SB

2022 (A+) - .281/.406/.424/.830, 15.5% K, 15.9% BB, .143 ISO, 13 SB

2023 (AA) - .276/.467/.513/.980, 17.1% K, 21.9% BB, .237 ISO, 17 SB

Those are really impressive numbers with elite bat to ball skills and improving power (with speed to boot!) at 22 years old.

The only reason I want him in AA a bit more is to try and give the league a bit more of a chance to see if they can catch up on him. I'd love for the defense to improve some more, so he was at least average somewhere.

The guy just reminds me of Mat Gamel. (hopefully he will stay healthy)

Looks like he has only played 3B this year, other than a couple games at DH. A cornerstone 3B would be nice...

Sheesh... He really IS dominating at the dish right now. Brewers should bring him up as a full-time DH right now.
