Hot takes…

Flahrety looked pretty good today. Checks stats… oh. Guess he wasn’t supposed to be that good.

This is exactly why run differential is a silly stat to put any stock in.

the Cardinals are not dead. Anyone surprised, raise your hand. Checks room, ok didn’t think so.

Varland was a nice story and all but time to bring up a real arm. Oh wait…

This is going to be the most maddening / winnable division / but still maddening year ever.

Don’t see any hot takes here, seems pretty reasonable.

There are few things I like less than losing to the Cardinals - especially in a blowout

I know it is only one game

Hopefully we bounce back tomorrow night

This was a terrible way to start the week

I know it’s one night, but can you keep varland around anymore? It’s too early to offer him back to the dodgers, but I’m close

Sure they can. Make him the new long man out of the pen. They liked his arm enough to keep him initially; that hasn’t changed.

Plus, they cut bait early on Phil Bickford, another young pitcher with an arm they liked, and he’s gone on to be a serviceable middle reliever.

After 7 innings of this carnage I had to change the channel.   Horrible game.  I almost don't want to watch Tuesday's game... 🙁

I mean you can't really be a long man if you can't get through one inning without being pulled when you had a seven run deficit.

Run differential is absolutely not a silly stat to put any stock in.  Crazy outlier games happen for everyone, like the series earlier this year vs. the Mets.

The front office decided to roll the dice on a bunch dumpster dives and rookies. We are stuck with it. Either they turn into something or the ship sinks.

Don't we do this pretty much every single season?  Pick up a bunch of retreads, might be's, and see what sticks?

This isn't new, in fact, we should all be used to it by now.

I was looking forward to at the very least, having a top 3 pitching rotation of Cy Young Burnes, Close to Cy Young Woodruff, and future Ace Peralta, and we can't even have that.

This kind of sucks...

Guess they couldn't. I think that line drive he took, hurt his confidence / mentality. That's hard to recover from.
