The T-Rats stranded Lara at 2B (Winker K, Wilken K, and Boeve groundout to 2B) but they did tack on a ripe 26 pitch 1st inning. That'll play over the long haul of the contest. 0-0.

Vallecillo took a bad outing and made it much worse with an egregious throw after he dropped a comebacker and threw an underhanded submarine toss short and wide of 1B that made its way into foul territory and scored a run in the process.

Meanwhile, in Mississippi, RHP Jacob Misiorowski has thrown 7 straight balls after grabbing two outs. Stop me if your've heard this one before in Biloxi.

That's two straight free passes for Misiorowski. He again struggles to harness his stuff in Double-A. He's not close on these pitches. Let's hope he settles in!

Misiorowski grabbed a K to end the first inning threat. LHP Nate Peterson escaped a runners on the corners, two down, jam with a swinging K of his own. 0-0 onto the 2nd in Cedar Rapids. 0-0 and we are in the top of the 2nd in Mississippi.

You are going to be extremely challenged to find a better duo in the 'Low A Throw 'Em Out Department' than C Jose Sibrian and INF Jadher Areinamo. I can't tell you the number of expert throws and tags I've seen from those two. Sibrian just scoops and pops on a throw one-bounced in the dirt outside and throws an absolute cannon to Areinamo who catches the one-hop toss in the base path in the tagging motion.

Meanwhile, RHP Jacob Misiorowski with his first HBP of his evening. Tell me if you've heard this before. Misiorowski's Double-A outings are anything but uneventful.

Rowdy’s helping his case: 109mph single in first PA. Tyler Black (walk) scored on a sac fly.

Lauer walked the first batter in each of the first two innings, giving up 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Though he’s also notched 3 Ks. Sounds trail 2-1.

The T-Rats failed to capitalize on a bases loaded two out threat in the top of the 3rd frame. INF Mike Boeve was thrown out on a sharp hit grounder that appeared to take an odd bounce off the pitcher's mound. The Kernels SS made a really nice sliding stab and then throw to 1B to beat him by a couple steps. 0-0 game.

RHP Gerson Calzadilla sighting in Kannapolis. This is his first work in Low-A and our first live look. He gets a pop fly to LF foul territory in a 1-2 count in his first AB. Second batter rips a single into RF.

Calzadilla has runners on first and second with one down. Two line drive pokes - one through the 1B/2B gap into RF. The other off the glove of Luke Adams at 3B and into foul territory (ruled a hit - camera didn't capture). He is now 0-2 to his next batter. Three consecutive singles. And, what sticks out here is (once again) how absolutely underrated Jose Sibrian is. He has saved Calzadilla a couple wild pitches with expert scoops. Just such a savvy glove behind the dish.

Calzadilla gives up a two-run liner single over the glove of the outstretched 1B Tayden Hall in a 3-1 count. 11-3 Kannapolis. This one has turned into a laugher. Boooo!😅

Misiorowski is so incredibly tantalizing. I feel like he's closer than we might think to figuring out his command.

Absolutely tantalizing. Electric. The sample size is so small at present. All we know is he has been erratic. He has walked guys, hit guys, and struck out a lot of batters. He's certainly not getting hit all that much.

Totally agree with this. He's just trying to throw it down the middle it seems and still has some pretty large misses often, but it isn't like a yips thing where he's in his head. Either way, his stuff jumps out like crazy obviously. Really fun to watch

LHP Nate Peterson gave up a solo shot in the 4th. The sole run of the game so far. Lara just swiped his 2nd base. He's on 2nd with Winker at the dish.

Lara made it back to 2B in a pick-off attempt and the lazy throw ricocheted off his helmet into shallow RF. He takes 3rd base. Winker then weakly flies out to shallow LF failing to advance Lara across home plate. AND grabbing the second out in the process. Yuck.

2nd hit batter for Misiorowski. Inside heater wayyyyy inside into the upper back of the batter. 3 BB. 2 HBP. Bottom of the 4th. Erratic is the word.

9 Ks in 4 innings. I'm wondering if a stint in the big league bullpen to close the year wouldn't be the best thing for his development. Get MLB coaching and learn from our pitchers.

One thing has rung true so far in High-A for LHP Nate Peterson: he gives up long balls on the road to right-handed bats. His second solo shot of his night goes 109 mph at a wild 39 degree launch angle. 2-0 Kernels.

Meanwhile, CF Dylan O'Rae just gave us a fully stretched web gem. Incredible catch. Calzadilla is getting hit fairly hard in his debut outing. The outs are not soft liners or pop-ups. An inauspicious debut.

It's hard to tell until they get more looks at the talented hurler. Matt Arnold, we know, is on record stating the Brewers brass are 'considering' the idea of Misiorowski in the bullpen for the Playoff push. The idea is definitely in the air.

I'm going to play a weak hand here: It depends.

Chourio looks rushed at the plate in his return. Over-aggressive. He's in front of everything. He's swinging out of the zone. First pitches. Etc. We'll look to see how the series AB's play out before making any commentary beyond this (from my vantage point).

Mis is a lot of fun when he throws strikes, and he's on one tonight.
