That 2021 draft is looking pretty great (if only we drafted Abbott instead of Smith though).

1. Frelick - already making an impact in the MLB in all aspects of the game

Comp-A. Black - Top 100 prospect already in AAA

4. Henderson - Absolutely dominating Low-A after injury issues the last 1.5 years. Has #2 SP upside imo.

5. Murray - 112 wRC+ in 367 AA PA as a solid up the middle infielder

6. Rodriguez - One of the best AA SP as a 21 year old and locked in Top 10 prospect in our system

9. Jordan - Really solid season as a RP in A+ before getting injured last month

10. Clarke - 119 wRC+ in 864 PA as a professional with 41 2B and 38 HR

13. Low - Has shown flashes of extremely high pitcher upside

14. Avina - wRC+ over 120 in nearly 500 PA as a 19/20 year old in A ball

That's 9 guys who have shown some form of being legit prospects.

Yep, and honestly, with the strikeout totals he has posted, it wouldn’t be shocking if Smith ended up becoming a passable late blooming bullpen arm. Not something I am predicting or counting on, but not outside the realm of possibility either.

If only injuries hadn’t hit Vire so hard. Was interested to see if he could make some strides.

You could say we partially made up for not drafting Abbott by trading for Gasser.

Someone mentioned how Lazar is quietly having a solid year. I think Murray mirrors that among INFs as it's easy to overlook him with all the other SS & 2B types doing good things. Not as flashy & not as able to make the highlight-reel play as his teammate Zamora but IMO much more reliable. They both have a chance because bench guys who are INFs & can play SS are valuable.

I will polite-fully and respectfully challenge the '...not as able to make the highlight-reel play as his teammate Zamora'. Zamora is a smoother moving human. But, Murray makes web gems in almost every series. Like Zamora, he is prone to befuddling lapses with his glove, unfortunately, but given Murray's serious proclivity for making absurd plays on the regular, I take them in stride. He can also play a solid 3B which is a big plus. Whereas, Zamora is essentially a SS and 2B for now.

I'll defer to you, then, as I'm sure you've seen Murray more than I have. Perhaps I was going a little too much on "rep" based on what I've heard.
