Lotsa big games in the box for what ended up a 7-1 Wisco win.

The aforementioned EBJ went off (4-5, HR, 2B, SB) while Lara (2-5, 3B), Wilken (2-5, 2B), Mendez (3-4, BB) and Wood (3-5) had busy nights themselves.

Woessner worked around 6 H | 3 BB over 5 IP to only surrender 1 ER with 7 K before Nick Merkel closed it out with three perfect frames (2 K).

Well that was nerve-racking in Tennessee. Luis Amaya and Zach Vennaro struggled to close out the win for Biloxi, conceding 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks. The potential game-tying runs were on 2nd and 3rd base, but Vennaro gets the final K to preserve a 7-5 victory. Whew!

I have to say I certainly did not expect these Shuckers to go into Kodak, TN and pull ahead to a 5-0 series lead heading into Sunday. Clutch is the word I would use. Absolutely CLUTCH.

Absolutely clutch especially with Montgomery continuing to play well. Nice to see Chourio and Quero potentially heating up at the plate as well.

Anyone know Ashby’s velo last night?

Beloit doesn’t show velo on screen so unfortunately not. I didn’t recall the announcers saying the velo either. I think they said he threw a 92 mph changeup at one point but I’m guessing that was actually his sinker? So velo down pretty considerably if I am remembering correctly. The dreaded eye test tells me his velo was down as well.

I'll trust the Brewers, but I've said from the start, surgery on your shoulder for a guy who could legitimately be an ace or a #2 pitcher and you have him cheap for 6 more years? I'm not screwing around.  Let him rehab and strengthen it and then see ya when pitchers and catchers report.

There's just too much that can go wrong.
