I know where the majority is going on land on this, I'm just curious how lop-sided it will be so I'm running this poll.

This is happening earlier than I'd like but I really do try to listen to all of your feedback. On Twins Daily, we ran the front page article threads in the Twins forum, just as we do here in the Brewers forum. But as Twins Daily grew and our stable of writers expanded - we have a policy that mostly consists of "if you want to write it, write it" - the Twins forum became overwhelmed with articles and it pushed out user content. That's no good, we value our user content in the forums, all of you are the glue that holds the site together.

Traffic isn't where I'd like it to be to make this move but if it's driving all of you nuts, it's more important to compromise now for the sake of the community than try to wait for the "perfect" time to make this transition.

So my mind is pretty much made up on this already, we'll be moving the front page articles to the News forum. But I'd like to see how extreme the polling is on this just in case I'm getting the vibe of the forum very, very wong.

Please continue to encourage writers who have unorthodox perspectives.  It's refreshing to read something from an opposite point of view, even if they're kind of out there.

We really do. I know some people groan at some of the articles for a variety of reasons but we really want the writers to come at things from "their" angle. I often disagree with what is published on this site. I'm not the only opinion in the room, nor do I want to be.

I lean towards the majority, but also can see the argument for including them in the Majors forum. While most articles don't spawn hundreds (tens?) of posts, if we're splitting the conversation now there are two places to talk about a given topic.

I guess the article threads could be for more direct comments on the article and viewpoint itself, vs other threads where the discussion could be longer and wider ranging and may reference an article.

Thanks for making this change

I know I was strong in my opinion regarding articles cluttering up the Brewers forum - I’m happy to see that I was not in the minority

I appreciate your willingness to listen to us

Funny - I always click on & read the articles when I see them in my Twitter / X feed

It was really a bad look to buy the site--because of the popularity of the forum? (but also crap on the popularity of the forum saying it's going to die...but also USE that same popularity to prop up the "value" of articles from "content creators").

OTOH, Guys like Mass Haas deserve anything they can get plus probably more for the time they've invested into this site over 20+ years...

The forum *was* dying. It had lost over half its traffic from 2019 to 2022.

That doesn’t mean it was dead. That doesn’t mean it didn’t have value. It obviously did and does.

It is my extremely humble and worthless opinion that it would be better for your bottom line if you backtracked into a "silent" investor in the main formerly  "independent" Brewers and Cubs fans forums.

That's your opinion and that's fine, I guess, but you seem to be under the impression I'm an "investor" when I do more work on Brewer Fanatic than anyone else. I'm here all the time because I'm working on the site in some capacity all the time.

But a topic for discussion: do all of you want the MiLB recaps to stay in the MiLB forum?

YES

I'm not sure how many people are seeing your poll, and or voting in it.

I rarely check this page, so I'm sure a lot of others don't know it's here.

That's what I mean, only 56 people have seen the poll, that's pretty low.
