Seriously? He's not coaching Little League...(where really arguing with the ump, even if you're right is ridiculous). This is MLB... the ump was antagonistic, they're all adults.

I don't think Murphy's behavior was "shameful."

I think he was referring to the language specifically and the sheer volume of cussing happening in that exchange.

All well and good but it wasn't picked up by mics and it took a guy reading lips to understand what was being said back and forth. Are we really impacted THAT much by a conversation we're really not supposed to be privy to anyway?

Ump isn’t off the hook…he was looking for a fight. And throwing Peralta out of the game was, in my mind, unthinkable at the time.

I understood what he meant...I just don't think it's that big of a deal...especially in that context.

How is Chris Carpenter going to explain this to his son?

I admit that I have never been a fan of the unwritten rules, plunking batters intentionally, being upset over a HR celebration (i.e. don't give up a HR if you have an issue with it).

The Peralta ejection was really odd.  Did he intentionally do it?  Probably, but there is plenty of question that I think you have to let it go.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
