Two fly outs to Lara in CF end the inning. 1-1 game. On to the 6th. Meanwhile, the Mudcats have runners on 1st and 2nd. 2-1 game. Nobody out. Bottom of the 6th.

Wow. Both runners advance a base as the throw to try and nab Pratt at 2B sails into CF. That's a big pick-off Error. Runners on 2nd and 3rd. Nobody out. García in a full count now.

And Pratt and Yophery have had a nice season with month over month improvements, which is all you can ask from such young players. Hoping that they continue to show this improvement, although some ebbs and flows throughout the season is to be expected, but the past 2 months has been so nice to watch these two in Carolina.

Lara has not looked his typical self. He rarely has hitless games but is on the verge of 4 hitless out of 5.  Since his injury he had his game winning game back, bit otherwise only 2 hits in 5 games now. Relax grasshopper I know, but I want him to just dominate and move up to AA by end of year, and yes my expectations are too high.

With the infield in, Castillo rips a grounder through the 1B gap. Yeah baby. 4-1 game. Still nobody down. Runners on 1st and 3rd.

And Castillo makes them pay. Alright! 4-1 Cats.

Yeah BABY. Gapper from Walling. He deserved that. A two knock game now! Runners on 2nd and 3rd. Beautiful stroke there. Only one down. Woot woot!

Kuehner is going to likely be pulled here after 5 2/3 with his pitch count at 91. Yep. 5 K in a one run outing. He's been fantastic of late. He'll make way for a call to the Pen.

Di Turi hasn't been getting results tonight but I like the swings and I like the approach. He's fighting off pitches. He's making decent contact. All the tools are there. He reach pokes an infield single up the middle. A slow looping roller - hey, ball don't lie! He made great contact thoughout before this - ruled safe on a bang-bang throw to first. He plates two more. 7-1 Mudcats!!

Meanwhile, Rund is on to spell Kuehner. He's got it 1-2 and gets the end of the bat cork spin dribbler to the mound. He escapes. 1-1 and we head to the 7th.

Ernesto Martinez Jr with a 112 EV HR. When he hits them, he really hits them.

Yeah, that ball was absolutely rocked. Would be really nice to get back to sizzlin' hot Ernesto cooking taters. Just sayin'!

I may be starting to relent and give in to the Misiorowski to the ‘pen crowd.

I am having Nick Neugebauer flashbacks here - granted I never really watch him pitch in the minors as MiLB.TV didn’t exist them, but his stats were all over the place - great outings, poor outings, wild outings and IDK outings…..

‘Brewers seem to be better at developing guys without incredible stuff and getting a few great seasons out of them pitching. Woodruff and Burnes were the rare “have stuff” and “developed well” as far as starting pitching.

Yophery's defense is a serious serious plus. He tries so dang hard and hustles to the nth degree on that CF grass. To me, the bat has moments but he displays his youth and inexperience at the dish. BUT, where he is indispensable and you live with that growth curve is he is an absolute capital PLUS manning CF. He has made outs happen throughout the season.

Rund facing some early trouble in the 7th. Walked the first batter. 3-0 to the next hitter. THis is unlike Rund. Let's hope he digs deep. Back-to-back free passes. Gulp. Two men on. Nobody down. Mound counsel.

Meanwhile, Pratt with another poke knock liner to CF. I can not tell you how much I love watching him play baseball. He is just such a fantastic player.

Misiorowski imploded. 3 HR today, 3 HBP, 2 BB, only 1 SO. His worst start of the year.

I mean, it depends how you view his season to date. I personally feel his entire season but for a handful of sequential innings has been largely a disappointment. I don't personally see the #1 Brewers prospect in 2024. He is an implosion outing like this, again in my personal opinion, on any given night. It's a really sad turn of events. I came into this season looking for real momentum and real building blocks after his arrival on the scene in 2023. He's regressed in Biloxi. And, well, let's be honest: lots of players have regressed measurably on that Biloxi team. Something is going on in the water down there.

Rivero comes on with an 8-1 lead and proceeds to do bad Rivero things. Gets a groundout. Then plunks a batter. Then gives up a single to CF. Now he throws a pitch in the dirt and to the backstop. Runners advance to 2nd and 3rd. So many innate skills. So little control of his toolkit. 2-2 count. Let's see what he does here. Inside high and in heater. Full count. Walks him on another wild pitch. This young man can be so utterly frustrating to watch. Just so little control of his arsenal on any given outing.

Carolina might regret bringing in Jesus Rivero with just a 7 run lead the way he's been pitching.

LOL. I was just thinking this same thing. He's so utterly unreliable at present. Like Miz, you literally never know what's coming to home plate. So frustrating. So many tools. Absolutely no control of his arsenal.

Walke them full. Be cause, of course. 2 WP. 1 HBP. A single. 2 BB. One down. Why is the batter swinging on his first pitch there? Sometimes I wonder.

BUllpen is warming up. Mound visit. They are trying to let Durow warm up. Rivero has the body language of a guy who can't locate his own clothes. ANother rough rough rough outing for the young hurler as his season goes South. Let's see if he can at least recover and get out of this mess.
