Hudson is having one of the great relief seasons in Brewers history especially given nobody knew who he was.

He's been awesome.  That's actually a pretty long list though...One of the few things the Brewers organization has almost always done well is crank out relievers.  Especially in the Hader/Williams era with multiple reliever of the year awards.

Ugh....I don't like going with Megill on the 4th game in 5 days....

But he's the closer.

True. I am factoring where he came from and how he was acquired into the equation.

U-rah-rah for the knuckle curve. Makes a HUGE difference when you can plant that in a hitters mind.

I thought Peraltas' first 50 & last 50 pitches were a real interesting contrast. Typical Freddy of the last handful of starts followed by top-of-the-line Freddy. When he overcame the balk call & bad pickoff throw in the 6th to put up a zero, that arguably was the most important sequence of the game.

Mayyyyyyybe Hoskins is starting to emerge. Couple of positive trips tonite.

Beginning to wonder how many 2B-SS-3B glovemen there are out there, better than ours. Can't be many.

Brewers keep trying pick offs with two outs and two strikes on the batter. Insane.

If you can get an out on the bases you take that every time whether ahead in the count, behind, whatever. That always beats needing to retire a hitter. And they had him dead at 2B with any kind of a decent throw.

Eleven pitches, then eighteen. Then a day off, and only five last night w/o warming up a long time since Payamps screwed up quickly. I thought he'd be called on tonight if needed. Not tomorrow though.

You are telling me you are going to chance throwing a ball away on a pick off when all you need is a strike from ending the inning? 😆

Absolutely. I think you're using the word "chance" simply because the throw tonite went into CF. Think of how many pickoff attempts DON'T get thrown away. Now think of how many batters you see reach base w/two strikes. I'm sure the first number is much tinier than the second one. The runner was caught napping & was hung out to dry. With a runner in scoring position they'll "chance" a throw to 2nd in that instance every time, trust me. As would other teams.

I know Frelick saved the game from being tied on Tuesday, but Megill has seven saves and has given up one earned run in June. I'll take that from a guy who would have been the fourth or fifth choice at closer before the season started.
