Rivero works around a single to CF and a fielding error by 1B Reece Walling (his 6th of his season) getting a fly out to Yophery Rodriguez on the CF grass.

Meanwhile,

After two XBH's last night, Mr. Wiemer just worked the count full and took a free pass. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody down for Isaac Collins.

It twould be a logical guess, yah? I thought that immediately upon the Barrios trade. We shall see, my friend. We shall see. It would also open up a spot for Bitonti and Guilarte and Di Turi could slide into primary SS share.

Just a day off before he goes to futures game on sat.

Ahhhh yes. That's a salient point!

(Still dreaming of that flight to High-A Wisco despite your logical wisdom here!)

Walling tags to 2B on a fly out to RF off the bat of Luis Castillo. That must have gone to the warning track or deep foul territory? One down. Walling on 2B.

Collins K looking on a back door slider. Wes Clarke K swinging on an inside cutter. Hicklen pops out to RF on a high heater. The runners are stranded. 0-for-3 with RISP already.

Every Tyler Black dig at 1B = a fist pump from this old Brewers head here. Patrick just gave up a one down 108 mph stand-up rocket double that one-hopped the wall off the bat of Jordan Walker.

Beautiful power change-up swinging K (89 mph tailing outside the zone) to get his 2nd out of his first frame for RHP Chad Patrick

He gets a swinging K on an inside sinker to escape the man on 2nd threat - getting the very dangerous Luken Baker, no less. Heck of a first frame by Patrick. Maybe the best first inning I've seen from him all season.

Rivero faces another full count. He advances the runner to 2B on his first balk (thankfully, his first) BUT, who cares? He gets his 6th K and his second K swinging this frame. My goodness. As I said earlier in this thread:

SO much talent in the toolkit. I need this outing like I need oxygen. Gimme gimme Jesus!😅

That's now 4 scoreless innings for Rivero. More importantly: 0 BB. 0 HBP. 6 K. Only 41 pitches used. Just the outing we needed to keep the Rivero 'Train of Hope' warming up at the station. Muddies cling to a 1-0 lead headed to the 5th.

Have to feel good for Jesus Rivero having a nice start today. Zero BB and zero HBP is a good day for Rivero. Let's see him build on today and have a good second half of the season.

Eduardo Garcia, on the heels of a very erratic evening at 3B last night, has his first play at SS tonight. A routine grounder. Unclean scoop. Rushes the throw. Airmails it well over Hall at 1B. I have to say, he has been extremely sloppy these past two games - form he should be well past given his status and age as a prospect.

Well, I don't think I've ever said this for a Minor League broadcast:

THAT was an amazing National Anthem performance in Biloxi. My goodness.

Wichrowski with a clean 1-2-3 first frame. A couple very well hit grounders in there. Heater pumping 97-98. Not a whole lot going on with off-speed other than a very nice sweeper a couple times.

RHP K.C. Hunt is such a baller. Goodness I love watching him sling the white rat. He has so much moxy and bravado and the stuff to back it up. Definitively one of my favorite storylines of 2024.

PS: I am innings behind. I literally had to go gather chicken eggs, water pigs, water rabbits, and close garden gates. #FarmLife. 😅Thankfully, Milb.TV has that glorious pause feature. Love it.

I believe said KC Hunt just struck out the side in the 2nd. Whewww dang. Those Sky Carp were flailing. They had zero answers.

The great - KC Hunt has 7 strikeouts during 3 shutout innings

The not great - KC Hunt needed 60 pitches to get through said 3 shutout innings

Absolutely rocked a 2-0 sinker 101 off the lumber over 406 ft to straightaway LF - landed over the bullpen. Gorgeous swing. Better result.
