I’m particularly happy for CY after some were talking about how terrible his contract was and clamoring for the Brewers to trade him a few years ago…….or was that even last year?

Anyway……happy for one of my all time favorite Brewers!

They're definitely not that far removed. I can remember a Yelich trade call just this past offseason off the top of my head. Awesome how he's gotten healthy and back to his all-star self. A true Brewers legend.

I personally think it would be fun if he got to do the Derby after he was forced to pull out back in '19. Only 8 HR this year obviously, but a lot of the big guns such as Judge, Ohtani, etc have already announced they're not doing it so you never know.

Heck people on this site were clamoring for us trading Yelich earlier this season when he got off to that hot start so we could get off his contract.

I certainly understand the hand wringing over Yeli’s contract and how it affects what the Brewers can do. But he is an all time Brewer now and for me I just want him to finish his career here just like I did with Braun. Like Braun the down years for Yelich have made me a bigger fan.  He is back on a HOF track now I think, and while the back is concerning unlike Braun he plays every day when active. Congrats to him and Contreras, both deserve it hopefully we get a couple of more.

So the Brewers as of 7/8 have given up the 4th fewest runs in the NL, behind PHI, LAD, and ATL. If you consider that those three teams have 6 combined All-Star pitchers, it's pretty impressive what the Brewers are doing with zero.
