DSL Brewers #1 are tied 3-3 and headed to Xtras (scheduled 7-inning game). Made lined out to SS with a man on 3rd and two down in the bottom of the 7th. They had the opening two runners on 1st and 2nd before Santiesteban hit into a DP.

The DSL Brewers Uno exchanged 4-spots in the top of the 8th frame of Xtras. Wild. They then conceded what was ultimately the winning run on a throwing error from SS Luis Pena (just his 2nd of his season) after runners on 1st and 2nd had advanced via a WP just before. Pena then grounded out to 3B with runners on the corners and two down in the bottom of the 9th. They lose a tough one to the DSL Rojos in what ended up 9 innings - 2 innings of Xtras - 8-7. They entered those Xtras knotted 3-3.

Meanwhile, the DSL Cerveceros Dos are absolutely spanking the DSL Astros Orange 15-4 as they head to the bottom of the 9th. They've broken away with 11 runs over the final four innings and there certainly appears to be some classic DSL pitching meltdown items on the Orange Ledger: 12 BB, 4 WP, and 2 HB. 6-of-15 Crew Dos runs have not been accounted for by bats.

Who is going back to watch LHP Anthony Flores' relief outing last night? This cagey vet right here.

Was there. Super high spin rate threw tons of strikes max was 85-87.  Slider was consistent at 79. Type of pitcher that will dominate one night and get lit up the next given his fb speed. Last night bailed out the BP with 5 innings.

We shall see. His primary offering is that curveball. The slider is a sprinkler and might get some swings on that swooping movement. I haven't heard a speed call from Chris but that heater has some late movement and I am feeling more 91 mph on that pitch but you were there. We'll have to track it. His build is uncannily similar to Higuera. Also, and I can't verify this but I could swear I saw him throw two change-ups.

Man, it is really a shame the Muddies couldn't capitalize and steal that Dub last night. Really a shame. It was right there in regulation. Just couldn't get that next poke. Today's start is Delayed due to weather it would appear.

23-year old LHP Tate Kuehner (2.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 10.7 K/9 in 68.2 IP) only received a $72,500 signing bonus when drafted last year, but is already making his AA debut. Biloxi leads their home series against Rocket City 3 games to 1. The offense’s 413 walks are 60 more than any other Southern League team.

Fb was consistently 85 and maxed 87. Sweeper slider whatever but wasn’t traditional 12-6 curve. It was very effective against the mostly left handed Charleston. He is a good change of speed that most teams see and will have to live on the corners.

Pretty brutal AAA debut for Misiorowski.

1+ IP, 0 H, 0 ER (2 runners left on that likely will score), 3 BB, 0 SO, 1 HBP. 38% zone rate and 0 whiffs.

Oof...

Kid is going to have to get his command back. I thought he was really pounding the strike zone the last...5-6 starts in AA right up until his last one.

I wonder if this is some fatigue or...whatever.

Tyler Black hit one 384 feet his first time up (fly out), then 426 feet his second at-bat (2-run homer). He may have to wait until MLB rosters expand on September 1st, but he may be impactful down the MLB stretch.

Sounds trail 7-4.

The real Mitch White has shown up today, retiring 7 of 8 batters faced, 5 via strikeout.

Sounds still trail 7-4, after 4 innings.

There’s magic in the air in Biloxi, with Carlos D. Rodriguez hitting a 3-run shot and Dylan O’Rae notching his first career homer(!), a 2-run blast - both part of an 8-run first inning.

Tate Kuehner also gave up a 3-run homer.

Biloxi 8, Rocket City 3 after one inning.

The Timber Rattlers dropped their first game of the day, 4-1. Five singles, two walks and a 1-for-3 day with RISP wasn’t enough.

That game looked daunting the second the No-Areinamo, No-Lara lineup dropped.

They now trail the series 3-1.

O’Rae is such a powerhouse.

6’7”, 24-year old LHP Brian Fitzpatrick starts Game 2 of Wisconsin’s doubleheader against South Bend, aiming to extend his decent 4-game run (12.1 IP, 1 R, 16 Ks). CF Luis Lara, C Matt Wood and 2B Jose Acosta enter for Fernandez, Rodriguez and Adams.
