34-8 to get to the 110 win prediction by @torts. We can do it!

It appears that the low mark is a prediction of 78 wins by @True Blue Brew Crew. Need only three more wins to surpass that! ;)

I'm actually pretty impressed with the overall optimism in that thread. I think we've gotten to the point where most expect that, even in a "down" year, this team will remain competitive. And let me tell you, after living through those teams of the 90s and 00s, that is one heck of a good feeling.

Rereading the thread, I read torts prediction as 110 wins, including the wins it would take to win the WS. So he is predicting 99 wins and 11 in the playoffs. Is that correct, @torts? Either way, love the prediction.

I am feeling ashamed that I only predicted 90 wins.

And I did mine essentially as a "reverse jinx"...

I'll say 78 wins because someone has to and not because I believe they're a 78 win team. I think they're the best team in the division but stuff can happen

So even the "least optimistic" prediction wasn't really coming from someone who was down on the current state of the team

You read it correctly, but I'll also take 110 regular season wins and 11 playoff wins for 121 on the year as possible!

Just imagine what might happen if Attanasio decides to actually try and win instead of middling around merely providing a summer of family fun.

I don't have to imagine, that's what is happening this season!

The team is now 77-44 on August 15, achieving a 13-game winning streak to match the 1987 season.

Through 121 games, they have the best record in MLB, scoring 630 runs and allowing 469 runs.

More single-season franchise records/achievements are out there for the team to chase in these last 41 games of the 2025 season:

  • 894 - Most runs scored in 162 games (1996)
  • 604 - Fewest runs allowed in 162 games (1992)
  • 96 - Most regular season wins (2011, 2018*)
  • Best regular season record in league (1982, 2018)
  • Best regular season record in MLB (1982)
  • Win a League Pennant (1982)
  • Win a World Series (Never)

Matching or surpassing these would make this an all-time team in franchise history. The runs scored and runs allowed records may be a challenge, but those last five achievements definitely seem possible.

I am without words. This team is just incredible.

We may as well shut this topic down, we don’t need it anymore. Reality is more optimistic than our wildest dreams.

Now that we passed the Cubs, it is time to "lap" them!  I'm not sure what that means in the context of a baseball record, but it sounds fun!

We've lapped them.

It means when Cubs fans talking about the Brewers being "luck merchants" and trolling the Brewers on Twitter just...quit and say, "we're fighting for the WC now...we're out of the division race."

That...is lapped.

Just change title to the reality thread.

I don't know if I did this. But I'm just... kinda at the expecting 86 wins in a year things go poorly and 94-95 in a year things go well.

I'd have probably said 93-94(maybe I did, don't recall if I even guessed).

But hell, when they had that one month, 6 vs the Dodgers, they had the Mets, the Cubs, the Marlins who were hot, the Mariners, the Royals... I didn't even give one. I usually overshoot it, but I thought 14-12 was optimistic(I don't recall the exact number of games, but I thought with the ASB it was 26.

And...they BLEW right past that!

I wasn't even worried about the division in May. I thought we'd figure it out...and NEVER did I expect THIS to happen. I thought we'd be in a race and run 'em down like '18.

Hey, lets play two today...and start a new WINNING streak!

That loss yesterday just removes that pressure to keep it going and motivates them to start another 5+ win streak!

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The upshot of that graphic is that except for the Padres every payoff team is closer in record to the Rockies then to us since then.

Cubs having a chance to make a statement in the opening game of a 5-game set against the Crew....and the Brewers shut them out!

Let's stretch the Division lead even further

...unless they manufacture some rain-outs to prolong the misery (and avoid the Miz, again).
