What is the likelihood of the Brewers winning 100 games now?  @sveumrules

This is very sensitive to the assumptions you make about the true talent / future winning %.

If you flip a coin 47 times, how likely is it to get 29 heads or more? (The Brewers have 47 games remaining and need 29 wins to get to 100.) (I'm doing this on an online calculator but the numbers seem plausible, could write it up in excel or something too.)

With a fair coin, exactly 29 heads in 47 tries is ~3%, 29 or more is ~7%.

If you assume 55% winning percentage, odds go up to 22% of at least 29 wins. With the Brewers' current winning percentage, all the way up to 56%.

My 8 year old son and I were at the crushing Mets playoff game last year. We were at the game last night. After Marte's double, he immediately said, "Oh no, Dad. What if it happens again?" NOT THIS YEAR, BABY!

And if you want to talk about optimism, the crowd from the 400's level was chanting "LET'S GO BREWERS!" the whole way down the ramp til we got out of the stadium. BREWER NATION IS PSYCHED!

Intrusive thought as I was drifting off to sleep last night: my daughter is about to be a freshman at Madison (out of state) and parents' weekend is likely during the World Series.

And by the way, as an out-of-stater, she's already calling it "Madison" instead of "Wisconsin."

Also, you know what? I like Andrew Monasterio. I know most people wanted a bench upgrade over him, but for a few years now, he's been shuttled back and forth between the minors and the Brewers, and always seems to have a good attitude. He's a good fielder and baserunner and looks like a good vibes guy - he's always the one who gets the Gatorade cooler to dump on the hero's head. I like the dude and am happy he's on the team.

I've already decided to forfeit my packers tickets for the world series when they come to Pittsburgh in late october

They can hang with anybody. That's where my optimism level is at. Don't think I've ever reached that point before. There was always some boogieman team that I felt they were looking up at. Not now.

Given the Mariners currently have the highest statistical odds of winning the AL, I was entertaining the thought of a Brewers/Mariners World Series, which would be convenient for me as a Mariners season ticket holder with postseason access. But I think it would actually ruin the experience since half of me would be bitterly disappointed in the result, so I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy the victory if the Brewers won.

In the long run I think both fanbases would be happy with a World Series appearance but it feels like the Brewers are the ones who are due for the championship, while Mariners fans would be thrilled to even get there.

Check the thread... Half of you will be ecstatic with a Brewer World Series victory and half of you will be thrilled with a Mariners WS appearance = 0% disappointment! 😉

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The 2011 team felt like a team of destiny. Fielder ASG MVP meant NL had WS home field advantage. Great starters, hitters to out SLG any team, emergence of Plush...

This year's team feels better. Bullpen seems great, no white flag long/middle relievers. The starter that gives me the most "uh-oh" is the "ace". Still think he's great. I feel a win when anyone else starts. Every position player (including bench) can play D and hit. They also seem to all like each other and it shows.

We were so close to seeing the allstar game winner homefield advantage rule play out exactly how the league intended.

The pitching basically ran out of gas in 2011. Wolf/Gallardo/Marcum all with 200+ regular season innings. Marcum in particular was useless in the NLCS.

2018 could have gone either way, the Dodgers just had a little more depth and got the big defensive play and big hit in game 7.

The 2025 team is not going to get outclassed on depth and ideally won't have to deal with the pesky wild card round.

I honestly think they won't even lose a single postseason game this year.

After the final out tonight, the stadiums speakers were playing "Glory Days." Not sure if they've done that before, but it sure seems fitting for this team...

For the first time since July 2025 the Milwaukee Brewers have won 10 games in a row.

My daughter is starting college too, at Wheaton in MA. She is awesome and excited. I am excited and sad.
