What do you think George Webbs will do when they win 24 games in a row?

Double burgers of course!

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

After the final out tonight, the stadiums speakers were playing "Glory Days." Not sure if they've done that before, but it sure seems fitting for this team...

That song is really about people living in the past, though (people also misconstrue what Born in the USA is about, too). I guess just don't think too hard about it. There are lots of other choices, though - it's a way different genre, but "All I Do Is Win" is probably the most apropos.

Since the trade deadline, the Brewers are 11-0. In those games:

  • They have scored less than 7 runs only three times
  • Averaged 8.3 runs scored, but only 3.1 runs allowed
  • Run differential of 57 runs
  • Home runs hit: 21 (about 2 per game)

They can hang with anybody. That's where my optimism level is at. Don't think I've ever reached that point before. There was always some boogieman team that I felt they were looking up at. Not now.

This has been tough for me to wrap my head around, too. There’s always been LA or Philly with something with like a +500 run differential, but this year, the field just looks so clear.

It’s us and then everybody else.

Teams that have scored the most runs this year:

  • LAD: 615 Runs
  • BOS: 613 Runs
  • NYY: 611 Runs
  • MIL: 608 Runs

And the gap is narrowing.

Of course, factoring in the run prevention:

  1. MIL: +152
  2. No one even close. (Cubs at +113 and no one else above 100)

It appears they weren't too devastated from the lack of needle moving trades.

Since July 1, the Brewers are now, in the National League rankings:

- 1st in runs scored, and the difference between them and second place Philadelphia is greater than the difference between the Phillies and 14th ranked Pirates.

- 1st in steals

- 2nd lowest strikeout rate

- 3rd most homers

- 3rd highest ISO

In that span, they have more homers than the Cubs and Dodgers and a lot more than the Padres.

For the first time since July 2025 the Milwaukee Brewers have won 10 games in a row.

Man, I remember that like it was last month. Those were good times.

LAD at 621 runs now after last night's game (which they lost) but I've been watching the Brewers climb this list for a little bit and it's awesome. They're within 13 runs of being the highest scoring team, not long ago they were something like 26 runs behind. There really aren't many holes in this team where someone can say, "But they aren't doing this particular thing well." Just the long ball and even that feels like it's heating up recently.

Dodgers have played one more game then us.  So just need to score 13 today to be even.

And to think Chourio and Hoskins will be available in a couple weeks. Hopefully, that's it with the injury bug so they can hit the stretch run and playoffs at full strength. That's a pretty damn complete team.

Myself and others have said before... it will take a special alignment of the (baseball) planets for the Brewers to get to and possibly win a championship.

Some of those factors included:

Young talent breaking out, having career years. They have that in spades at the moment.

Low key, affordable acquisitions producing far more than could fairly be expected. Yep, getting that too.

Core young veterans taking a step up. I'd say Frelick, Turang check those boxes off.

Baseball is a funny game of streaks and momentum as we all know. Usually, we small market fans cling to that in the "just get in the tourney, and anything can happen" meaning... upsets can and do happen. Oddly, this year, I'm tentatively viewing that in the reverse. I don't want to hope for upsets, because MIL could be going in as the targets for an upset instead of the other way around as we are more accustumed to.  Funny game indeed.

Just an amazing run this 2025 season is. Seems like whatever goes wrong for the other team is capitalized on by the Brewers over these past several months. It’s almost as if they’re using Murphy’s Law as a tool, as if they’re Murphy’s Litigators.

Big Woo comes back and dominates...out of control Abner Uribe is the epitome of stability...destined for the bullpen Miz is an all star...Andrew Vaughn has his own T shirt night...Isaac Collins the leading candidate for rookie of the year...we own Paul Skenes...Sal and Brice are homerun threats...12-0 with no Chourio...I mean how many more "pinch me am I dreaming" moments could there possibly be?

Can someone explain to me why Baseball Prospectus considers the Brewers to be slightly above mediocre in their formulas? I listened to their latest pod and Craig Goldstein just flat said there wasn't anything the Brewers could do to have him regard the Brewers over the Dodgers (and maybe the Mets). Then they referenced their in-house metrics and yea, the Brewers were mediocre.

I can wrap my head around anything, but only to a point. When do you look at results vs metrics and start to question the formula?

When we win a World Series. Or a Playoff series for that matter. That's what all my "metrics" are looking at. All this is great right now, but it doesn't mean crap unless we make a deep, deep playoff run or win it all. We'll just be the 2001 Mariners right now and still plenty of games left.

We have roughed up some pretty damn good pitchers during this run...Skenes, Keller, Strider, Senga, Boyd, etc.  Should bode well for us come playoff time when we'll see these same type of pitchers.

With 76 wins, I was wondering if the team has already surpassed any totals from the preseason prediction thread, but I can't seem to track that thread down. At this point, with 42 to go, they'd need to go 24-18 to win 100, which seems quite possible at this point, if not probable
