Rory is smoking out of the gate today.

-5 through 5 holes and three shots in front of the field at the Masters on Saturday.

Looks like Rory may have got it going now after the birdie at 3. And then another terrible drive on 5.

He has been a bit all over the place but still holding a 3 shot lead after 6.

He might pull it off but not making it easy on himself so far

Good for Rory.

Either of those guys would have been good winners but it's nice to see Rory finish the career slam.

I agree.

I have heard some people say, "At least he is a non-LIV guy."  The whole LIV thing is still a mess.

I'm not a big Bryson DeChambeau fan, but when I saw the logo on his hat and shirt, I thought, "hey, that's kinda cool, I wonder what it is."  When I saw it was his LIV team, all interest in owning a hat with that logo vanished.

Despite LIV, there are still quite a few golfers that are really easy to root for, Rory being one of them.  It was great to see him rebound after a few disastrous shots on the back 9 yesterday.

Scheffler is a robot.

Not sure if the rest of the PGA is just kind of meh or if he is just that good but the distance between him and the rest of the field right now is approaching tiger territory from back in the day.

He is by far the best player going right now....but to know that he only has 3 majors over this stretch of time makes you realize the gap between him and the field is nowhere close to what it was between prime Tiger and the field back in the day.  Scheffler's 3 majors are over portions of four seasons, and prime Tiger won 11 over a 8 year span (1999-2006)...with 3 of his other wins coming just before or after that stretch.

I think the rest of the PGA/LIV field is better/more competitive now than the PGA field TIger faced when he got rolling.  So what Scheffler is doing IMO is historic if he keeps it rolling another year or two and picks up a few more major titles.

Scheffler has had as many tour wins since May 2nd as the Rockies have had MLB wins.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I agree that tiger probably had an easier field to go against as a lot of the better names were at the end of their careers.

I was reading Keegan Bradley’s defense of Bryson DeChambeau today in relation to the Ryder Cup, and the first thing that popped into my head was the Ted Lasso episode “The Signal,” to the point where I am half expecting a shot of Bradley and the assistant captains flipping DeChambeau off in unison.
