Tuesday, May 6 @ 6:40 p.m.: Chad Patrick (2.87 ERA, 3.69 FIP) vs. Hayden Wesneski (3.86 ERA, 4.52 FIP)

Chad will not be had!
He will drive the Astros mad!
Hayden will be hit-laden;
I'm already feeling bad for his maiden!

This is going to be intriguing. Wesneski has pounded the zone, just a 3.6% walk rate on the year, but his sweeper looks effective. The fastballs can all be squared up, this'll be the game where the Brewers have to hit rather than walk their way to pressure on the bases.

Need to see a step up in the quality of contact

That will be good for Chourio since he thinks he can hit both balls and strikes.

We've been susceptible to the sweeper all year. Well, and a lot of other pitches. But the sweeper going away from the right handed batter. And well, going into left handed batters also. I'm talking myself out of a win.

Go Brewers!!

Important start for Patrick. When arms start getting healthy there will be some competition for rotation spots. Right now it looks like Priester has one foot on a banana peel. Chad has been mostly solid; needs to continue that.

Any Frelick update?

Levering: “The Astros are lucky that bill hit Meyers.If he had missed it Hoskins would still be running”

He’s right. Hoskins would be approaching third by now.

Patrick just continues to impress

I was about to post this exact statement … he’s been a remarkable addition to our rotation.

Where would we be without him?
