Unless things dramatically change, it would make sense for the team to be sellers this season. I thought I would group players by if they should be traded.

Definitely Trade: Civale, Cortes, Quintana, Hoskins, Payamps

Possibly Trade: Megill, Koenig, Perkins

Trade if the Return is Large: Peralta, Mears and Contreras

The team can set themselves up well for the future if they handle this deadline well. I am ready to let the kids play and see if they can make it.

What are some good fits for these players?

I'd move Mears up a tier to possibly trade. Otherwise I pretty much completely agree, I'd also have a separate tier for Woodruff that's basically if he wants to be traded then trade him. If he doesn't then keep him.

As for some fits, for Hoskins you have Texas, Kansas City, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston. All those teams are getting sub 100 wRC+ from 1B and DH combined this year. For the pitchers, pretty much every team could use a pitcher or two at the deadline so all of them could be fits.

Unless you are just dumping free agents to be to save money the returns for those guys will be miniscule. The big decision is to extend or trade Freddy as we really should avoid the type of return we got for Burnes and Devin who were traded with only one year of control and we are seeing how we didn't get nearly enough for either of them.

Boston could use a !B since Casas went down for the year.

Yankees and Padres could use a catcher.
21/2 years of Contreras would bring back a haul. With Quero ready it would seem like the right time to do it. I agree with 888 better to trade earlier to get much better return.

I doubt we trade William this summer. Q is going to need some time still at AAA and coming back from his shoulder injury. Contreras is also not having a good season so far and we definitely don’t want to sell low on him.
