Looks like Dorchies is getting roughed up here in the 3rd. 5-5 game, and still only 1 out. All 5 hits allowed this inning, and two big errors (both by Ereu), and now there are 2 down.

That Kevin Ereu has walked nine times in 50 PAs when he only has three singles in those same 50 PAs really speaks to the level of command on the complex.

Fielder & Ereu walks and a pair of errors have the AZ Brewers back on top 6-5 bottom three.

& a wild pitch makes it a 7-5 lead.

This is some real On The Complex baseball tonight.

With two down in the third Quintana singled & stole second, Quero walked and Handelfry singled to make it 8-5.

Two on for Ortuno and we’ve got a mound visit.

After a rough third inning, then sitting for another eight batters & a pitching change in the bottom half…Dorchies responds with his third 1-2-3 frame of the game in the top of the fourth.

Dunn is in a 2-2 count. The relief arm is already at 35 pitches. Fouls back a heater. Breaking ball low and inside in the dirt. He lays off. 3-2 count. Everyone will be moving. Dunn goes down staring at a dead center heater. Can not happen. You have to be sitting on that pitch. Yuck. Sounds lose 2-1. Ugly L given the opportunity late. Back at it Wednesday.

Every time I watch Oliver Dunn at the dish it seems he’s in a perpetual state of being on his heels. He swings the bat with too much passivity and too little confidence. That 2023 season looks like a big outlier

Jadyn Fielder and Kevin Ereu must strike intimidating poses in the box or something, oh for oh with six walks combined today.

Two more BBs from the pair, plus a Frederi Montero single and wild pitch have us in the Dolly Zone, 9 to 5.

Well, a lead-off double off Dorchies. A WP advancing the lead-off to 3B. And now a misplayed single by RF Engel Paulino has another runner on 3rd. The lead runner scored. 9-6 Crew. Man on 3rd. Nobody out. It's going to be one of those.

First five innings of this ACL game offer an interesting snapshot to the approaches of both the hitters and pitchers on the team.

Even on an off night Dorchies had 0 BB | 3 K in 5 IP.

Meanwhile the hitters have 10 BB | 3 K.

Connor Thomas on for the 6th.

LHP Connor Thomas' rehab debut is gretted with a slowly hit single to 3B. He walks another. He sees two stolen bases on him in the frame. He just gave up a two-run single into RF. It's 9-9. Par for the coarse in this contest. Yeeesh.

Fielder finally didn’t walk, lining out to end the fifth, but Ereu leads off the sixth with his fourth walk of the game.

What’s the opposite of a Golden Sombrero? A Home Walk? A Votto?

Ereu earns his fourth free pass of his evening. Yowza. I'm going to need a walk walk-off to finish this game off the right way. The Crew now have 11 free passes in the bottom of the sixth.

Ereu’s 11 to 3 walk to single ratio even makes Brock Wilken (44 BB to 14 singles) blush.

Kevin Garcia in for Quero and he leads off the seventh…with a walk.

& Handelfry follows with a ground rule double, 2nd/3rd no outs.

I'm extremely glad a young man named 'Handelfry' is having the season he is having for the ACL Crew. That is an All-Timer. Just poked his 7th dub and we have men on 2nd and 3rd. Nobody down. Bottom of the 7th. A little fuego is cooking.

2B Kevin Ereu with the wild 0-for-0, 3 R, 5 BB, 2 SB evening. He plates the go ahead run after a, you guessed it, walk; SB; throwing error (Catcher); advance to 3B. Score on a Paulino single.

The ol' classic "0-0, 5 walks, 2 SB and 2 error" night thank you very much.

Just one of the ACL stat lines that only makes sense in person.
