Groundout to 2B ends the threat. I've definitely seen Bryant sharper of late. With stuff as good and as violent as his it's quite easy to be just off. On to the 9th.

LHP Nestor Cortes begins his rehab outing with a first AB strikeout. All low 90's four-seamers. Velo looks the same it ever is. Sitting a tick above 91 mph.

Sounds strand two in their first. Vaughn BB. Dalbec 106 mph single had runners on the corners with two down. Black flies out to right CF.

Hard to imagine a better rehab debut for Cortes. Six up. Six down. 4 K. Sitting 89-93 on the four-seamer. He is dropping his arm slot in pitcher's counts. Doing Nestor things. Pounding the zone. Ahead every batter. 29 pitches through 2 IP. Target is 50 pitches.

The AA Shuckers won the first game of today’s twin-bill at Pensacola and send out RHP Alexander Cornielle (2.94 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 8.3 K/9 in 67.1 IP) to start the 7-inning Game 2 contest. C Matt Wood and LF Adam Hall enter the lineup for Miller and Restituyo.

Well, the Sky Carp feed just jumped to 2-1 Sky Carp in the bottom of the 5th. Hilarious. I was 1-0 in the 2nd. Won't go back either.

As a matter of fact both feeds literally just auto jumped. What the heck is this. LOL. 1-1 Sounds knotted in the 5th. I was in one Zamora AB. Now I'm in a different one three innings in da future.

Jimmy Crooks is absolutely mowing down Sounds would be base stealers. He has caught Perkins and just caught Zamora on an elevated change-up at 3B. They were both out by a foot. AND, Perkins walked after the failed double steal. Would have been bases juiced one down. Instead it is men on 1st and 2nd 2 down.

Baez charges a chopper in front of Areinamo who had the easier play. Baez botches the gather. Run scores in the process. Very much a Baez play. He is nothing if not over-aggressive to a fault. Sigh. T-Rats trail 3-1.

Bitonti solo jack plates another in the Muddies 4th. Yeah baby. 2-0. They stranded two. Hernandez continues to show why he is one my favorite young arms in the system. Everyone focuses on his lower velo. Like Manuel Rodriguez, it just doesn't mean all that much. He's so young. So wiry. And his off-speed kit is legit phenomenal.

Another 1-2-3 inning for Hernandez. Nothing hit remotely hard. All weak ground outs on fooled swings via off-speed. 71 pitches through five complete.

Made with another weak ground out (rough start to his series). Payne extends his hitting streak to four games with a line drive one hop single into right CF. Man aboard.

Another RBI opportunity for Bitonti who has knocked one across via single and solo jack already. Payne is at 2B. And, he swipes 3B with his 20th SB of 2025.

Oh boy - A. Valecillo’s first outing after missing nearly 2 years did go well statistically- just hoping he felt good and arm is ok for more outings.
