No the Brewers should probably not extend the 36 year old pitcher with severely regressing underlying numbers to a 2 year deal.

Why will he get that in the offseason? He's a year older than he was last offseason when he had a similar season to this year and only got 1 year for $4.25M

Absolutely not. He signed for a lot less this year, and if Brewers are looking to add a veteran next year they should either sign him to a similar deal to this year (~$4m), or find the next year version of Quintana. 

They're stacked with young starters, spend the money where the team is thin instead. If anything, Quintana should be a trade candidate.

He is probably the last thing we will need next year given the young talent at starting pitcher that this team currently has.

I agree with the poster above, trade him in the next couple of weeks, don't look at resigning him in the off season.
