Alright maybe don’t DFA Frelick just yet.

I actually saw a Reds fan on a chat call him "a 4th outfielder on a good team".

Seems the Brewers just have to acquire a garbage reliever every year. This year it is Shelby Miller.

Shelby def isn’t garbage

He's only had one bad outing so far. Let's pump the brakes on a verdict.

Pretty much dont give him a fastball down

Hitting it to out to left center with the wind blowing in at 20 mph is pretty impressive

Brewers need a home run at some point in this game

Yelich didn't hit a homer?

Now there's some interesting bullpen usage decisions. Have to think Mears is on for the 7th. After that? Guess it depends on whether we've continued to peck away.

The advantage of being the road team (and one with a pretty deep bullpen) is we can throw Anderson or Mears or even Tobias for the 7th/8th and save Megill/Uribe/Koenig for the winning innings if needed. Not a huge loss if you lose with those guys. Ashby hasn't pitched in two days and only threw 10 pitches last time. Hopefully Woody's efficient, but you've got options for game two.

I just realized Craig walks to the mound every time looking like a disappointed father

Not sure if the stats back this up or not, but it sure feels like Perkins has been struggling lately.

definitely. I have zero faith in him every time he's in the batters box.

Not as impressive as you think - he hit it hard but left center is still a short porch at Wrigley when the ball doesnt get up over the bleachers.  Wind didnt have much chance to impact that HR.

I’m ok with saying the jury is still out on Shelby, but I think it’s fair to say that his overall report card as a Brewer leaves something to be desired so far.

From the other side, the Cubs are on their 8th game in eight days, a lot of them close. Palencia and Keller are reasonably fresh for them, but a lot of the guys have been worked pretty hard IIRC. And they still have 9 outs to get in this one, having already let Keller toss up a bunch of pitches.
